Less than $11M per, that?s a steal.  Well done Dubas.

Yeah a real bargain.

Ha!  Point at 5.7 is a pipe dream.  He will likely be close to 9.

And that will make your steal a severe overpayment.

It?s the reality.  Money needs to be equitable.  Florida has no income tax, which is certainly an advantage.  Canadian taxes are outrageous.

Using the simplest of tax calculations and no tax planning Marner takes home more money than Kucherov. Marner's endorcements even more skews tge results. Or do endorcements not count like tax benefits??

I did the same.  Kucherov takes home about a mil more.

Oops, I had both at just over 6 when Marner should gave been just over 5.

So can someone explain to me why RFA Mitch Marner is paid $1.5 million more per year, on a shorter contract, than Kucherov? Can we officially say that Dubas is a good scout but a terrible negotiator?

Because the leafs are the worst team in the nhl.

Eh?

Offense for the next decade goes through the Four Horsemen. 40 million, half the cap.

Four players at 50% of the cap.

I really like this team's Cup chances... in 3 or so years, under an $88-90M cap.

Till then... oh well.

Part of the package. Terrible gm, bad decisions, awful franchise.

It was always going to be north of 10 ... and comparables on other teams don;t really matter because it was about comparables on this one.

I think it's high by about $500k but overall not that far out of range.
It's high by over a million

The Leafs just finally got the last of the Big 3 locked in.  When they added Tavares everyone knew that it was going to be super-lopsided with these 4.  Short of a fantasy trade for Seth Jones, what else were they going to do?  The bet is down.

Tavares signed last year at $11m and a 13.8% of the cap.

Nylander signed the same year at $6.962366m and a 12.9% of the cap?

🤔

Matthews is a 1st overall #1 center. Tavares is a #1 center. Any year without McDavid/Eichel, Marner has the potential to go 1st overall. After years of desolation, elite talent is here. They're getting paid. They're locked in. It's a good day.

Puck drops October 2nd.

Nylander's cap hit % is weird because it uses that $10mil figure that was calculated because of when he signed. If you just looked at the $6.9mil AAV then his % would have been 8.7% last season.
