Canada has struggled to finish in all three games.  That is very concerning heading into the elimination round.

Also not winning in regulation puts them against a tougher opponent.  I haven't seen enough from this team to be convinced that they can beat the heavyweights at this point.

They sucked in Salt Lake and Vancouver in the round robin. Relax.

Yeah. I think they've got a better record than both those Canadian Olympic teams, at least coming out of the preliminary round.

Today was a good test. They should be alright defensively moving forward. I'm guessing they'll be working on producing more offense from their forward positions, and not relying so much on goals from the defence, as well as finding a way to make the PP more effective on the bigger ice.

okay, does that mean Sweden vs winner Austria/Slovenia is the 3 am game Wednesday morning? and following that, Finland vs Norway/Russia winner at 730 am; USA vs Czech/Slovak winner at noon and Canada vs Latvia/Switz at noon, at the other arena?

The Swiss are going to be a very difficult opponent, especially if the forwards continue to have problems scoring. They went 2-1 in the preliminary round, scoring 2 goals and giving up just 1. They beat the Czechs and Latvia 1-0 and lost to Sweden 1-0. They didn't play Hiller in the game against Sweden though, and he's the guy who got their two shutouts.

Not winning today's game in regulation made Canada's road to the Gold Medal Game decidedly more difficult.

The alternative path would have been to play winner of Slovenia/Austria, winner of Finland/Russia, and then presumably winner of Sweden/USA.

Switzerland is a much tougher opponent than Austria/Slovenia, and the other significant difference is that Finland could foreseeably upset Russia.

I really must apologize if that has been stated already, but I gotta say, right now, Doughty is the best dman in the game, and it shows. Rarely makes a mistake..rarely.... hey PK, pay attention

It is amazing what $7 million a year can get you for a defense man.

I agree that he looks like a man on a mission for these games. Yet, he only has 3 more points in the NHL this season than Cody Franson.

The centre for finland. Jarko Immonen was a leafs draft pick back in the day.  He was also traded for Brian Leetch.

Yea, along with Max Kondratiev and 2 First rounders..

That requires some context though. Doughty's low point totals are mainly the result of the team he plays for.

The Kings employ a defensive-minded system that stifles offensive production, and their top players collectively all have lower point totals than they should be capable of.
