Exactly. Getting advice from a parent on an important life decision is something any of us would think is sensible. What filters down into the media is the idea of Paul Marner or Michael Nylander as some devious puppet-master secretly in charge of negotiations so that twitter-obsessed fans can have someone to hate that isn't the player they hope to be cheering for in a few months. If it wasn't parents, it would be the evil agents and how they're corrupting their players. It's just boilerplate garbage.
And it's not new. Remember how villainized Eric Lindros' parents were for...being concerned their son was being rushed back from a concussion? What a bunch of crybabies, am I rite?
