Official 2013-2014 CHL Prospects Thread

I saw Connor Brown get some love for his play, but how about Carter Verhaeghe? He's a year and a half younger and right behind Brown with 28pts.

In a few years we are going to kill with our kiddie corps maturing, then we can rid of the real duds like Kessel and JVR and someone named Lupul..LOL

Just took a look at that. How about Andreas Johnson too? He's one of the youngest players to be in the top 10 in scoring. For the most part the top scorers are much older with a couple of early 20yr olds. I don't think I saw another teenager leading their team in scoring the way Johnson is.

Isn't it great that a guy drafted in the 6th round can turn into a legitimate prospect to make the NHL? Playing with McDavid is probably helping, but I think a fair bit of credit also has to go to Brown, it's a great story.

Hope_Smoke: Pronman "Matt Finn has been impressive. He takes the body is tough and can move the puck. His skating is constantly improving."

Is there anyway we could get Hope Smoke just to post here and cut out the various middlemen?

A good write-up about Connor Brown this season: http://www.wewantacup.com/headlines/2133-where-connor-brown-is-at-and-where-he-really-fits

Some nice words about improvements in his game and how his success hasn't been dependent on McDavid. Still, I pretty much have zero expectations for him as a NHL player until he shows he can produce at the AHL level.

I'd have to wait to see it at the AHL level too, but having said that, the guy has 30 more points than McDavid (in 9 more games) and 10 more than his teammate Dane Fox.  If it was all McDavid, wouldn't McDavid have more points?

Connor Brown got his 100th point (36 + 64 = 100) in his 48th game on Monday.  He's 15 points up on teammate Dane Fox for the OHL scoring lead, and 27 up on #3.

It's kinda funny that he's only been named player of the week in the OHL twice this season.

I think rather unfairly, he's been classified as only producing because of his 'superstar' line-mate.

Has Fox been drafted yet?. If so who owens his rights, and if not our sights should be on him. keep them together, on the Marlies and then move them to the Leafs together.
