Oilers @ Maple Leafs - Dec 10, 7 pm - TSN

So, the Oilers spent 40 minutes skating around 18 pylons and failing to score on a shooter-tutor, and the Leafs get 2 points?

Ok.

You know, the Oilers had ridiculous sustained when they were on the powerplay, but 5on5?  I thought it was pretty even.  At least until the Oilers were really pressing for the tying goal in the 3rd.

Well, the game is over so now I can point out the fun I had making the acrostic in the GDT opener.

Did the Leafs even have a shot on goal in the 3rd? Do they even know they're allowed to try to score again?
There was a mad scramble in the Oilers goal as the Leafs nearly got#2. That long stretch without a whistle was pretty good

Broissant ... or Croissant?

mirtle: When I was on the Leafs western trip, there were some Oilers fans on the flight. They were calling their backup "Croissant."

I don't think it was a term of endearment.

Hey, come on, he's already improved on his SV% on the year tonight.

Well, the first one he gave up was certainly a muffin.

But at least he's not matched up against Andersen, the Danish.

I'll see if I can find my out now.

Let's just hope that McBackup can put up a Bagel rather than play like one.

Yeah, hopefully the 1-0 score's baked in from here on out.
Prescient!!

Not sure why you pulled up on two more points to spell it out more clearly. Klefbom and Caggiula were right there.

I did really like the scratch list though.

I was actually pretty impressed by the win. Obviously we got excellent goaltending, but the team in front played a part as well. Two points is two points.

Kudos to McElhinney for excellent netminding.  Being the backup goaltender and it's not like he gets to play often neither, he kept the Oilers from cashing in, so to speak. (With the help of the posts, crossbars & co.).

A bit of a bizarre game especially when Edmonton held a 89-37 shot attemps advantage (61-39 at even strenghth in favour of the Oilers).

At least we got the win.

Well the way he went off it did hurt at the time even more reason he shouldn't of went back out there.

I don't know what to tell you. This is hockey. Guys go off gingerly all the time only to return.

In fairness, it's possible that azzurri has never experienced an injury in his life.

Guess who put himself in the middle of a Twitter bully circle again?
