Y a I don't mind him either as far as post game and pressers. Says some pretty good stuff.

His mid/post-game whining sometimes looks stupid, but it generally helps manipulate the stripes to lean in his favour on future calls by appealing to their sense of fairness. Keefe on the other hand seems to only have an antagonistic relationship to the refs, which doesn't do us any good.

If I were a hockey player/coach, I'd be (genuinely) lauding the great calls they make (double-tap!) on both sides of the ledger and try to be super understanding about the calls that need clarification. Refs only get negative feedback all game, every game from players, coaches, and fans, so a little bit of sugar goes a long way.

What are you doing, Willy?

This play sucked from Nylander. He was gassed after a good shift with his old linemates, who rightly changed knowing they had numbers on the regroup. This is the difference between fresh legs and a brain deprived of oxygen. McCabe saw the flubbed slow-down, and went in to help instead of identifying the next play, but I'll chalk that up to expecting and not seeing a regular puck pin. The rest of the line change was a bit too casual, again, due to their anticipation that Nylander would at least play the puck. Giordano eats a puck to the hand as a result.

Proper physical engagement from Marner. FLA77 Nikko Mikkola is 6'5" 206 lbs, but put himself off balance trying to impede Marner who got his stick in the advantageous lower position first. Marner takes advantage of the imbalance and that height and weight advantage is nullified by Marner getting his hips under Mikkola.

Edit: I don?t know what he did but Mikkola features in this too

That was old school Nylander right there.

I am not a fan of piling on Sammy but Woll's positioning is so much better.
