Playoffs Round 2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers

Lines from Florida's last game against Boston:

Verhaeghe-Barkov-Duclair
Cousins-Bennett-Tkachuk
Luostarinen-Lundell-Reinhart
White-Staal-Dalpe

Forsling-Ekblad
Staal-Montour
Mahura-Gudas

Bobrovsky

Alex Lyon got the first shot at goaltending duties in the series and went 1-2 with a .902 save percentage. He was pulled in game 3 and Bobrovsky took over the net since then. Statistically Bob wasn't that great with just a .891 save percentage but got the job done going 3-1.

Tkachuk unsurprisingly lead the team in scoring with 11 points in 7 games. Defenceman Brandon Montour continued his rather freakish breakout season (73 points in 80 games) in the playoffs where he had 5 goals and 8 points in 7 games, including a pair of goals in game 7.

Florida had a strong powerplay in the 1st round, finishing a little bit behind Toronto at 25%. Their PK however was a clear weak spot against Boston, operating at just 59.3% which was 14th among the 16 teams in round 1.

Wow Panthers get only one day, not that I mind of course but didn't there used to be at least 3 days in between series?

I thought for sure it would start Wednesday, especially considering the 1st round only ends today. Thought the league would take a one day break for everyone.

This eats into Florida?s speed advantage a bit (and one less rat).

The Leafs will really have to get their NZ forecheck sorted to slow any counter attacks (Florida favours rush plays with skaters wide across the rink).

Curious to see where the Leafs go with their lines here. As much of a godsend as Knies has been, I can't help but think that the ROR line (assuming he stays at 3C) just needs him more than the top-6 does.

Sad trombone for anyone looking to travel to Florida for games 3 or 4.

Not a huge fan of teams restricting access...you know full well that Leafs fans are going to buy every last ticket they can on the secondary market...not to mention Canadians than live in the US already.

Have fun with your three fans that show up.

Bunting had a solid game 6.  I'd be fine putting him back in the Top 6 and letting Knies play with ROR-Acciari.

Matthews-Nylander-Bunting/Jarnkrok
Tavares-Marner-Jarnkrok/Bunting
Knies-ROR-Acciari

I'd also stick to the 11/7 at this point.  Liljegren shouldn't come out of the lineup at the very least.

Ok but if I read this right all you need is a vpn and you should be able to get tickets.

I think they go by credit card address so the VPN might let the purchase go through initially but the purchase will likely get voided after the fact.

They will check zip codes in credit card billing addresses.
I live in Brazil, but I got an international account with US a credit card, however there were a time when the international accounts didn't exist and I use to fly regurlary to the US to Work.

Also if someone is trying to bypass this stupid small team rule, you just need to look if your 5 digit zip code has an address in the US, all the credit card company checks is the 5 digits, like my 5 digits in BR is a ZiP code in Maine - US, so when I didn't had my international account, I use to add my "Maine" address on the billing part, always managed to buy tickets, stuff at amazon, etc.

This is a dumb move by Florida.

Go Leafs Go!!!

New series slogan: Flip the Puck at Tkachuk

I look forward to the Schenn/Tkachuk netfront boxout battles.

Getting Schenn was a really good move. No leafs D on the roster would be very capable of it.

I couldn't buy gas at the pump in Folrida last week because I didn't have a zip code.

1) Lots of teams in the U.S. try to do this, 2) Leafs fans will still be there.

Yup. Lots of these tickets will be going to Leafs fans on the resale market, for sure.

Leafs are as good as anyone left in the tourney.*  If they get their game sorted out, they have a real shot to get to the SCF.

* ok kraken excepted

Yeah, no limitation on the secondary market. So, I guess that's the play, buy through stub hub.

Fun trick - if you use the 3 numbers from your postal code followed by 00 it will work. So M4G3A2 would be 43200.

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try that.

It's so stupid buying gas in the states.

Let's get through this round first.  Florida will be tough.  They are never out of a game and they are playing with house money.  If I was Keefe I would try to play the angle that the Leafs are the underdogs because Florida beat out the best team in the league this year.
