Pre-season: Leafs @ Canadiens - Sept. 23rd, 7:00pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

The Habs didn't get the 'AHLers only' memo apparently. Which is kinda weird. We know Babcock likes to ice even rosters during pre-season games. The two teams play each other again on Wednesday.

Home teams should ice their better lineups for the preseason home-and-homes.

Good to see Karl Alzner is still one of their better options lol

Great to see Indeterminate finally getting a shot

What a putrid lineup the Leafs are icing tonight lol.  Who the hell is Colt Conrad?
Hey Zee, you need to spend a bit more time studying the prospect pool and the Marlies ;)

Can we also just take a step back and marvel at how it looks like Babcock is on the cusp of cutting a boatload of fringe vets for some savvy youth + Marincin?

Start the season with Timashov + Agostino as forward spares, and Sandin - Marincin + Schmaltz as the bottom D
I can live with this.

So much for Neuvirth. Is this guy the Lupul of goalies or is something else going on here?

Hendrick says he is sick.

Not related to tonight?s game, but the going theory (Steve Burtch) for why Timashov is on the good lineup is because he is also fluent in Russian and can serve as Mikheyev support.

(In addition to his improvement and skills of course)

Woll is Indeterminate.

It's very helpful to actually watch Babcock's pressers, rather than just the cherry-picked tweet transcripts sans context.

This is why Bracco isn't making the jump unless his offense hits Marner/Nylander level:

[Moore] is kind of what I am hoping Timashov can be. They haven?t scored a lot at this level and I don?t know if they ever will, but they can penalty kill, transport the puck, and they can be heavy down low. They can get it back for the good players. They can play against really good players. They play with pace. They seem to always be ready to go. If he can do that, he just improves himself and can move up in the lineup.

Kapanen, Johnsson, and Robertson on the higher end, Hyman, Moore, Timashov, and Connor Brown before them are the kind of drop-in plug-and-play role players this team is looking for on the cheap to build up.

Admittedly I saw him for, like, 3 shifts but that Rubins guy caught my eye.

That said, I don't think I'll bother watching this one.

I'm going to catch some of the game to see Korshkov, because I'm still hoping for something out of the 2016 draft.

Rubins is an interesting prospect.  Hope the Marlies can develop him. Sort of like the Goat, who this year looks 20% faster than last year.  He has put the work in for sure

I'm happy for the chance to watch the prospects and lesser knowns. It'll be interesting to see what's up with the Noov.
