I thought Kostka played fairly well. I am more concerned about Fraser not being able to handle the speed out there, Seguin blew by him clean.

A large portion of the blame for the 1st goal lies on Kostka. Either block the shot, or get out of the way. None of that halfway crap he went for there. Other than that, I didn't notice anything particularly awful about his game, but, he was on the ice for all the goals against, so, I mean, that's not all on him, but, it ain't good.

I thought for a guy who is to be showing leadership, MacArthur was terrible tonight.  He needs to stop throwing the puck back down into his end when the puck comes up the wall to him...he must show more poise out there.

I wish Kadri didn't say on record that this series is "very winnable". No big deal, but doesn't sound good after this thumping.

This is a very inexperienced team against too much. To expect them to jump the line is unreasonable at this point. And to expect Kessel to be something he never was against this team is unfair, although yes they all could have played so much better.

Carlyle need to take some of the heat here. He wore Bruins colours for crying out loud!!! 

Whatever happens, I hope they just give it some effort the next few games.

Some quick thoughts:

Last time Leafs were in the play offs I was in 2nd year university, now I got a wife and kids. Time flies.

Grabovski looked good out there, which is a good sign. Kostka was brutal, the reason why he played so much at the end of the game is that he won't play on Saturday so Carlyle was just using him to burn minutes, same goes for Fraser, saw I alot of him with Kostka at the end... I hope.

Pure first game jitters for everyone. Van Riemsdyk is a proof what play off experience means, he was calm, collected and looked dangerous. Everyone else made nervous mistakes, Fraser made so many bad passes out of his end to noone I almost lost it.

Key to playing in Boston is playing with the lead. While holding onto the 1-0 lead early, they got the crowd out of the game and Boston looked mostly flat. Should have been 5-3 PP with the elbow to Grabbo, with a 2-0 lead things could have been different, but that's a big what if.

Gonna have to be sedated for the Saturday game, even beer didn't help the nerves and rage tonight.

Yeah. Whether a play was penalized in game sometimes influences the decision on the severity of the suspension/fine, but, a play not being penalized does not mean the player can not be suspended for it.

He can be and he should be. Good thing Grabo can take a beating, almost anyone else on the leafs and they have a concussion/done for the year.

I don't get it.  I don't get how that isn't a prime example of an elbow with the head being the principle point of contact.  I don't see how it is not equal to or worse than Lupul.

Realistically, this was the expected result.  The bruins outshoot their opponents by a significant margin. The Leafs get outshot by most opponents and spend a lot of time in their own zone.  Moreover, there has been little evidence of improvement in these areas over the course of the year.  If anything, they've been getting worse.  Put those things together and one would expect a series of easy wins for the Bruins.  Our main hope is that Reimer steals the show and the leafs fluke out a few more goals than they maybe deserve.  Let's hope it happens.
