R1G5: Leafs @ Bruins - May 10th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

This is my game prediction:

Joffrey Lupul will sing the national anthems and it turns out he has a beautiful singing voice and blow everyone way. The Bruins will start to cry because Joffrey is such an amazing singer that they will feel the need to. The Leafs, having heard him sing before, will be aware of what Lupul's plans on doing so they will have in ear plugs. Once the game starts the Bruins will be too emotionally messed up to play hockey. This will give the Leafs a lot of time to score many points. Finally, once the Bruins get their act back together we will send in another secret plan: Reimer (The Nicest Man in all of Hockey) will go over to the Bruins bench. He will start acting so nice to the team and the Bruins will feel the need to just give the Leafs a few more goals. Before you know it will be the 1st intermission and the Leafs will be up 50 to 0. Then, during the 2nd period, I will have airdropped in to put in meds you drink that makes you crap a lot into Rask's water bottle. He will be forced to leave the game because of the poop problems he will encounter. Again, more time to give Leafs a huge lead. Thus, the final score will be 1000 to 0 for the Leafs.

Unfortunately, I think Boston dominates from start to finish and end the Leafs' season tonight.  I can see a 4-1 victory for them.  On the cusp of advancing and a hostile crowd behind them, I see the Bruins just coming in waves that will be too much for the Leafs to handle.

I really hope I'm wrong, and this has been a resilient Leafs team all season long, so pulling out a victory wouldn't be overly surprising.

That's how I see it. Just like the Blackhawks last night, there is no way the Bruins want to travel again for a Game 6.

Hope we're wrong....

Heart says a win, head says a loss.

Even if the Leafs are out tonight, it sure as hell has been nice to see some playoff hockey - it has been far too long, and I hope that we're in for a good chunk more in the years to come. Kessel's GWG in Boston will be a highlight for me...and I hope it is something he can continue to repeat in games to come.

With nearly everyone predicting a Leaf win tonight, I have to think they will lose. (At least that's how I play the stock market, and usually come ahead.)

You are bad.

So is Peter D. just below me.

Hey. I don't come here with rainbow makers and bubble machines.  ;)

A comeback just isn't in the cards, at least not if we're being reasonable about things.

Regardless of tonights result, the Leafs have done better than Nucks and Habs this year which in itself is already somewhat satisfying. I did not expect the Leafs to win the series and they actually did pretty well against B?s. Right now, they can just play the spoilers and push Boston to earn the win. I would be really proud of them if they force Bruins to travel back to Toronto. If they do, you never know what happens.
The Leafs are huge underdogs being down 3-1, hopefully they will feel no burden on their shoulders, will pay attention to the details, will work hard and will be rewarded. Bruins are good, maybe best in the East, but they are certainly beatable, if the Leafs dont kill themselves as they have tendency to do.

If the Leafs lose tonight how have they done better than the Habs ?

Not being humiliated 6-1 twice for example...

jonasTSN1050: Brad Marchand this morning: "After that first game they've pretty much taken over the series." Felt Bruins got "lucky" in game 4.

Take it for what it's worth, but, some of us posters around here who haven't felt that the Bruins have been as dominate as others seem to have support from some of the Bruins themselves. Unfortunately, that "taking over" hasn't lead to results.

As with every game except the first in the series, I have no idea what's going to happen.  That's part of what has made this series so fun to watch.  I'm having a great time, and I hope it keeps going.  I'm on my way to Toronto tonight, I should get there in time to join the crowd for the last period or so.  I do not expect to have a voice tomorrow.

Isn't it a little premature to unleash our secret weapons?  Gotta save that stuff for the finals.

Redden won't play for the Bruins tonight.

Well seeing that he's played like he was 10 years younger at times, I'd say that's a positive at least..

It's going to be a hard game to win. I think the Leafs played their best game of the season in Game 4 and deserved to win, and probably would have if not for an indescribably stupid pinch. Can they do that well again?

I sure hope so.

YAY!!!

now, you could really make my day and say Chara and/or Krecji aren't playing tonight either.

Krejci is the key.  Need to shut him down, as he goes so goes the Boston offence.

Oh sure. Now if they pull off a win tonight you're gonna show me up....... :D

If Reimer plays halfway decent, I think we win this one.  My prediction was B's in 6 so we have to get to Sunday.

Reimer has to play much better.  14 GA in 4 games in the playoffs simply won't cut it.

Yeah, but the defence also is needing to step up and not allow so many shots.

I generally agree, but as I see it they've kept odd man rushes mostly to a minimum and most shots have come from the perimeter with goals on chunky rebounds.  Given the size and strength of Boston's team I don't think you could hope to limit their scoring chances much more than the Leafs already have.

Reimer has faced so many point-blank chances, it's insane. He's played very well for the most part, a softie or two aside. Only problem is, the last two games Rask has been vastly superior.

I just hope they continue to play like they did in Game 4. If they keep skating and hit every Bruin that moves, they have a chance. If they're caught standing around, it's over.

I see Lupul and Kadri having good nights to help the Leafs win this one. If they pull it off, I can see this series going seven games, with the Bruins probably eking out the deciding win at home.

We're also going to need a better effort from Bozak.  He's looked completely overmatched in every facet of the game thus far.  I guess that's not too surprising but it's a little disappointing after he played well for a decent chunk of the season.
