R1G7: Leafs @ Bruins - May 13th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Back to back games and game 7 brings back horrible memories of a game 7 in 2003. I know it's irrelevant, but I can't shake this feeling of impending doom.

That being said - go freaking leafs go!

Don't do it in OT?  Wouldn't that be the best possible way to win?  Look at my avatar..remember the moment.

I still think the Leafs are too nervous to go to OT - especially in a game 7. Just win it and get it over with!

I'm ready.  I've been prepared for the Leafs to be eliminated since game 5 so tonight is no different.  A win would be fantastic but I'm realistic about what this team has accomplished so far.

I'm interested to know one thing:  which of the Leafs or Bruins will have been 'well-rested'?

Consider the plane malfunction delay for Boston which meant that the team was staying  overnight in T.O. but leaving this morning.

The Leafs we assume left for Boston overnight which may mean a better early rest.

What does anyone think?  Some substance to any of this or no?

I think it could pile on a bit on the Bruins, who were already dealing with playing a huge pile of games down the stretch, and they are a much older team.  I think Boston looked tired last night. They were having trouble keeping up other than some spurts where they had control.

The Leafs keep trotting out younger and younger players into this series, especially guys like Gardiner who go out and play half a game, skating circles around Boston.

It's a factor.

LOL. How much has Gardiner matured as a player in the past week.?

This kid is a keeper.

Yup. I think just about every player on this team has gotten better and better as the series has worn on.  Gardiner is playing with ridiculous confidence and it's given RC another option other than Phaneuf all the time.

Certainly buying in to what Carlyle is preaching 100% and paying attention to defensive duties down to every detail. It's been incredible to watch the the last 3 games.

Redden and Chara are 35, Ferrence is 33, let's see how fresh those guys are tonight.

Don't worry they will bring it. Boston will not lie down, so we must play hard.

No argument there that they'll be giving it their all, but with all the hockey Boston played (even down the stretch with the cancelled games) they might not have as much in the tank by the third period.  Hopefully this is the case and the Leafs can capitalize.  I saw good things from Kadri last night, I hope he's on the cusp of a hot streak.

this is the first game where boston has to play...due or die is always different.  If we are going to win..i don't think it's going to be easy.  there's a lot of pride in that dressing room too and going out in 7 to us on home ice is not something they're just going to let us take.

It's down to one game ..all that jazz...hopefully the breaks go our way.  that being said..hopefully we continue working for our breaks.

When the leafs came into this series there were a lot of annoying firsts since 2004 to get past.  First playoff goal since 2004, first win, first win on the road.  finally first win at home.  If they hadn't of done those things we'd have been hearing about them again next year.  So there's one last thing to do to make sure that the theme of "since 2004" is dead....first series win ...didn't look possible two games ago..now it feels almost likely.

It's incredible how much better they've been exiting the zone with a mobile dman on every pairing, Gardiner and Liles have been huge in this regard, we can rely on our 2nd and 3rd pairing to find the outlet pass and get us going the other way.

It's so important because Dion and Gunnar as the shutdown pair are going to spend a little more time in our zone due to QOC, if the other pairs get hemmed in, then the whole team gets worn down.

Yeah when Fraser went down and Liles came in I made mention that it might have been a blessing in disguise for the Leafs as the more mobile type players seem to give the Bruins more problems than a stay at home guy like Fraser.  Having Liles as one more puck moving guy back there gives the Leafs a whole new look.

Radio is TSN 1050.

Thanks. Leafs site had it as the Fan at first but I thought that was wrong since they've been alternating and the Fan had game 6.

TML Preview is showing the game is on both TSN 1050 and FAN 590.

From what I understand, Bowen and Ralph will only be on TSN 1050 (if that matters to you).

fan590.com also has it on their broadcast schedule, perhaps its on both stations.

All, I know is that no matter what, I'm immensely proud of this group.  They have shown so much heart and grit to come back and take this to game 7.  Yes, winning would be icing on the cake and my head says heck yeah, but my heart is very scared.  Having said that, no matter what the outcome, these guys deserve to be proud of themselves.

GO LEAFS GO!!!!
