R2, G3: Panthers vs. Maple Leafs - May 7th, 6:30pm - SN, Fan 590

Marner trying to creat fancy passes in the defensive zone leads to a prolonged shift with a few Florida chances.  I'm fine with fancy stuff once we get in the neutral zone but everything should be quick outs.  Only bring the puck back with a second guy ready to take a short outlet.

The Peafs keep getting one defender stuck behind the net and trying to make passes out of the defensive zone and the Panthers are picking those off

Again stop that shit Marner ffs. Dump it out if there's no play.

Really. Had time to skate it out then waits till there?s pressure icing would have been better.

Once again we can't sustain a strong start.  Panthers dictating play after the first 4 or 5 minutes.

If Marner can?t stop making giveaways, I highly recommend giving it away to the Florida net.

This feels more like Game 1 than Game 2.  Weather the storm though.  The Leafs keep making mistakes getting the puck out of the zone

Brodie and McCabe are both so poor at getting the puck to the net from the point.  They hold onto the puck and hit shins all the time

I get the aleafs want to attack but having all three forwards stationary on the blueline while the defense has to make a pass from their own zone seems like a poor idea when playing a team that counterattacks

But we still have the lead so keep doing that.  Even though there have been scramble shifts in the d-zone I do like how they are taking away shooting angles and clearing pucks from the slot

Marner playing like he doesn't know how to make simple plays. Not enough support on the forecheck...

Funny how the game is perceived sometimes. I just saw him make 3 high skill zone transition plays in his last shift.
