Ranking Prospects 2024-25

Looked like Cowan had his head down and hopefully is not concussed. Danforth lays out nice hit and scores a nice goal. Nice!

Odd situation but I wouldn't really jump to any "baaaaaaad" assumptions right now, especially with the very positive language they use towards him in the press release.

I would think so - going hand in hand with the talent the GM acquires

I was trying to remember something like this happening before - where a coach was in the upper part of the standings and got fired because they wanted to play a different system. I couldn't think of a time offhand (might be forgetting/overlooking one) when that has occurred. I was expecting some kind of misbehavior.

Robbie Ftorek in 2000 by the Devils. They were in 1st place and Lou canned him and hired Larry Robinson...they won the cup.

That wasn't a systems thing. Ftorek's team was playing sub .400 hockey for something approaching their last 20 games.
He'd lost the room. They were in a nosedive with no end in sight before the playoffs.

O'Rourke started the season's first 10 games playing .450 hockey - not uncommon for a team adjusting to new personnel and systems changes.
But they were playing .725 hockey over their last 20 games.

To me, it is not the same thing.
