Yes Lucas, if you hang around there Muzzin's going to shove you.
Muzz is an important D man going into the playoffs. Nice that the Leafs will have options.

Hopefully Sandin will be back too.  You can't have too many defensemen ready to roll.

You can't. Outside of goaltending, it really feels like there's a lot of depth going into the playoffs.

So you?ve got to pretty much dress the marlies against Boston no? Why risk anything. There?s nothing to play for.

Leafs clinch home ice, Matthews scores 60, Campbell with the shutout. That's a damn fine night.

Most fun season ever.

It's nice when the milestones come when there's more at stake - don't get me wrong, Sundin's 500th goal will be seared into my brain forever (hattrick, shorthanded over time winners are few and far between) but this has been a really fun season, and I can just hope we get treated to some excellent playoff hockey.

If they can manage to beat TB in the first round I can accept pretty much anything that comes after.

Once Matthews scored #59, I was thinking how much it would suck if he didn't get to 60.

I didn't have to think for very long.

There's a few personal milestones, but, nothing from a team perspective. Definitely going to rest some key guys.

60 in 73 is pretty ridiculous.

67 goal pace. Absolutely ridiculous.

If he started the season healthy, he?d have 70. What a season.
I think lots forget that he scored 1 in his first 6 and he didn't play the first 3 games..remarkable year. So 1 in the first Leafs 9 games.

7 in his first 17 (the team's first 20). 53 in his next 56 (the team's next 61). Amazing.

Also, only 5 players have more total goals than Matthews' 44 even-strength goals.

I'm assuming Marner is one, maybe Nylander looking to hit the PPG mark.

Those are the two that are most in sight. Tavares has an outside shot at an 80 point season (4 points back) and 30 goals (3 back), Rielly for 70 (3 points). Spezza is a longshot for his 1000th career point (5 points - not impossible, but not likely, either). There might be some other, less prominent ones, too.

I know you want to avoid the risk of injury obviously but there's also probably something to be said about getting in a pre-playoff game before the real ones count.

Sure, though neither team will likely have much to play for. Might not be a super competitive game, in which case, is there a benefit? For some players, probably. For others, the extra rest will be more helpful.
