Round 1: (C2) St. Louis vs. (C3) Chicago

What kind of clownish hockey is Keith Duncan playing? Jeezus you would think he is in the beer league. Taunting Karosenko by putting his stick up to his face repeatedly at a faceoff, hacking guys at their ankles, hooking their ankles??? He just comes out as immature dummy. Play the game hard idiot. Leave the clowning to the a$$ hats.

I don't know either why a great player like Keith resorts to that type of crap.

It's not just this game; Keith has earned the reputation of being a dirty player with some of the elbows he's thrown over the years.

So the Hawks resort to dirty tricks -- Seabrook's head hit on Backes, Keith's stupidity, Bickell's kneeing Sobotka.  No wonder it's called desperation hockey.

Grow up, Chicago.

Kudos to da Blues.  The comebaok team.
Poor Corey Crawford buried his face on top of the net after the
tying goal by the Blues to force overtime.  That said it all.

Agreed. Also, somebody yelled "wakey wakey, Backes" after the Seabrook hit and apparently it was Keith. Which is funny because if the trainer hadn't held him back I'm pretty sure even a concussed David Backes could have taken on the entire Blackhawks team.

edit: Video of the hit for anybody who hasn't seen it:

Its hard to like Backes, especially after dropping his gloves on an 18 year old kid, but there's no place in hockey for a hit like that.

Part of the blame for these sort of hits should go to Shanahan and Campbell, in my opinion. Instead of levying serious suspensions which may have actually been a deterrent, they've created this problem where a playoff, season or even career ending cheap shot will have to be judged based on weak precedents.

Seabrook gets 3 games:

Most people have always felt that one playoff game = 2 regular season games in terms of suspensions, so in that light 6 regular season games here actually feels right.

After seeing that, I hope that St. Louis wins this series before Seabrook gets back. That was a dirtbag hit with no place in the game. That hit probably cost Chicago game 2, and depending on how things turn out, possibly the series. Remember Domi's bonehead hit on Niedermeyer?

There's a YT video that zooms-in on the incident, and you can definitely see that it was Keith taunting him.

Not to sensationalise the whole thing, because bad hits are an unfortunate part of the game that happen from time to time, but to taunt him like that afterwards is pretty sadistic.

Here's hoping the series doesn't go back to St. Louis.

This is beyond idiotic. To taunt a guy after such a hit and to mock a possible concussion to a fellow player?

Utterly disgusting.  I usually cheer for the Hawks in the west, but definitely not anymore.  I feel bad for Toews though, he's still one of my favourite players.  I hope the Blues win in 4 or 5, so Seabrook doesn't see the ice again.

Chicago 2  St. Louis 0.  Blues lead series 2 games to 1.

'Hawks shuffled their lineup inserting Patrick Kane on the top line alongside Jonathan Toews and it resulted in the only goal the 'Hawks would need, while Marcus Krueger added  the empty net marker to seat the win.

Saw the goal - Miller should have had it. Right through the five hole. A sieve goal, if you will. :)

It wasn't a good goal to give up, but it was also incredibly fluky. Half an inch up, down, left, or right and it probably hits Miller.

Nice comeback by the Blues.

Tarasenko looks like a star in the making.

Miller has to save that. Kane had no other option but to put it short side and Miller let him have that side. Kane has a wicked shot but Miller has to save that.

Really?  Maybe Shattenkirk should block a shot if he's going to TOTALLY screen the goalie on it.  I'm not saying Miller couldn't have saved it, but I don't blame him for the goal.
