Round 1: (M1) Pittsburgh vs. (W1) Columbus

Columbus outshot Pittsburgh 46-25. Bear in mind that Columbus didn't have a shot in the third period until about the 10 min mark.

No screen.

I don't see the puck until after it passes the defenseman.... that's a screen my friend.  Like I said before, I still think he should have had it.  I just don't agree it was a "floater" or an "easy save".

I do.  That's a terrible goal.  The defenseman leaned away from a long wrist shot.  Fleury just did his usually playoff choke job.

Watching the TSN SportsCengre Panel analysis last night, Mathews Byron (or Aaron Ward) suggested that while it looked like an easy shot to stop, the puck hops -- lay flat onto Foligno's stickblade -- which when shot, it can be difficult to stop even if you think you can (as Fleury obviously tried to do).

Bob McKenzie countered that at the end of the day, all anyone's going to be talking about is Fleury bumbling the tying and OT goal.  And the Penguins' stars (Crosby, Malkin) and the weak defence.

Yep. He fumbled on the two biggest goals of the game. No question he wears the horns no matter how many excuses can be made for each goal.

So if the Pens don't get out of this series, who pays the price for it? Bylsma? Is it his fault he's been saddled with Fleury when for two years or more now it's abundantly obvious the guy is a mess at the worst possible times?

It's like Carlyle is coaching both teams.

Personally I hold Reimer responsible for all 4 losses.

Totally on Kessel for not being physical enough.

Maybe it's just me but I can't help but feel that the end of that game sort of highlighted why pulling the goalie can be a really bad decision. Pittsburgh up by 1 with two minutes to go, Columbus playing with good energy and they make a decision that means that any turnover that goes the other way results in the end of the game.

The Bruins would have completed that comeback and won it in OT. :o

So, like, day to day are you in public relations for British Petroleum or M. Night Shyamalan?

Man, can we just give the winner of Rangers-Flyers a bye?

I dunno. I kind of enjoy watching Fleury implode. It's like a spring ritual.

I mean, you're right, that's an underrated hilarity but and I feel bad for even saying this, but #87 has to be on the hook a little right now, doesn't he?
