Round 2: (A1) Boston vs. (A3) Montreal

Regardless of how great a team Boston is there is usually something that happens to them when they line up across from the CH crest.. I think the Habs may be the only team Rask has a losing record against. Montreal is better than they were when they took the Bruins to 7 games last time (yes Boston may be too).. I am hoping Gallagher and Prust drive them nuts.. You know Subban will..Boston will be their usual bullies..

Habs in 5.  Boston's obviously very good but they're getting Montreal and Price at the wrong time.  Montreal's 1st line and PP were on the verge of breaking out at the end of the Tampa series.  Montreal could be clicking in all areas at just the right time.  Then again, maybe Tampa being terrible was masking a lot.  Anyway - Go Habs!

What makes you say they're getting Price at the wrong time?  Career .905 SV% in the playoffs, .904 SV% in the Tampa series.

Not saying you're wrong, but curious on what basis you would think that right now.

Pretty sure the "He's a Habs fan" basis.

I might watch this series if for nothing else then to see what the refs do when all 10 skaters are down and clutching their shins simultaneously.

and the whining from both sets of fans

I don't have the stats, though they should be easy enough to find, but on CBC during the game they showed his record and stats post Olympics that were excellent...he wasn't perfect in the Tampa series (though I thought he was good), but every time they needed him to come up big, he did...I think he's finally ready to take the next step - it's his time

I'm sorry, I cannot in good conscience EVER cheer for the Habs. I shall hold my nose, cheer for the Bruins, watch them take out the habs, hopefully lose to the winner of Pittsburgh/NYR and if not, watch them lose against My Jonathan and the Hawks.........

What's with the Saturday 12.30pm start? Ugh.

if it were a Blackhawks game, I'd be really pissed because some of us work retail and have to work Saturdays..... but in this instance, they're just saving me two and a half hours of my life :D

The only team I ever want to see the Habs beat is Philly, and, since they're out, I look forward to seeing Boston take out Montreal in 5. It's been over a week since the Habs have played a game, and they didn't face a team that was really playing "playoff hockey" in the 1st round. They're going to be rusty and I don't think they're going to be prepared. The Bruins have a slight edge in net and are right at the edge of that sweet spot in terms of having had enough time to rest up but not so much to get rusty. They're also a big, tough team that skates pretty well, and the Habs just won't be able to handle them.

Boston in 4...  not even close.  I fully expect Boston to trample the Habs and then, when the horn sounds at the end of game 4, to eat them.  It's going to be epic.

Montreal blows a lead with less than 2 minutes left.  They had 2-0 and 3-2 leads in the game.

They've been playing with fire all night. Bruins have double the scoring chances.

I'm still waiting for some of these top flight teams to start employing their "don't give up any one goal leads" strategy that Carlyle stubbornly refused to implement all year.

Wow that was close.  Puck in behind Price and Montreal just got it away.

Shots are 50-29  Carey Price has been fantastic.

So the first 18 minutes of OT the refs let everything go..and then Montreal gets two PP's in the next 6 minutes of OT.

Montreal win Game 1 on Subban's 2nd goal of the game.
