That little fact that Matthews hadn't scored a PP goal since November is ... ridiculous.  If they ever get him sorted out on the PP he'll be right there with Laine in goal scoring.

And the Bozak and Plekanec lines overmatching their counterparts.

50 points for Gardiner. First time the Leafs have a pair of 50+ point blue liners since the hey days of Kaberle-McCabe.

I rode Jake pretty hard in years past but he's been really, really good for most of this year.  50 pts is pretty doggone impressive.

I know that this is true but it's still a little hard to believe.

This has become very rare with teams starting to only use 1 defenceman on each powerplay unit. Incredible accomplishment.

And Nashville and Montreal might be the only teams that don't use 4 forwards on a powerplay, so the Leafs are the only team to do it recently with the 1-4-1 PP set-up.

Equally impressive that the Leafs' PP is 3rd in the league without Matthews scoring.

Haha I'm pretty sure Kadri got kicked out of the face-off before they went to check that review and then when they finally came back to drop the puck he tried to take it still before they made Marner take it.

Are we keeping Gardiner? Or spinning him off and using the resources for an equivalent righty? (Hamilton or Trouba)

Dermott deserves to be in the top 4, but he?s not Gardiner yet, and no one on the right side is safely above average.
