Sabres @ Leafs - Dec. 27th, 7:30pm - TSN, TSN 1050

Wow. Still only 1 regulation win in 19 games. Chicago and before that the Islanders back in November.

4 of their last 5 regulation wins have come against 4 of the 5 worst teams in the league.  It's been baaaaad.

I think they showed a little bit of character coming back in the second the way they did, it's not earth shattering but it's something.

I mean, it's the same old story. Their top players produce at key moments and it gives them an opportunity to win. Then nobody steps up in the third and Captain Brainfart takes a terrible penalty and they're back in the jackpot.

Nobody can win when big players come up small.

Scott said Orr asked him to fight when #Sabres led 2-0 and he asked Orr to go when #Leafs led 3-2. "He said no and I said no."

NHL enforcers.

Yeah, but Scott didn't beat up Kessel so Orr did his job.  Also, I believe Orr is what is keeping the Middle East from breaking into absolute mayhem.  As evidence I present the fact that no nuclear weapons were detonated during the game tonight.

Leafs at 50/50 to make playoffs.  Or handcuffed at the trade deadline without a good draft pick in other words.

Lisa, I'd like to buy your rock.

Another shootout, eh?!

Toronto is tied with Los Angeles with six shootout victories, behind only Washington?s 10. Five of those shootout wins have come at home.

The growing sarcasm and loathing directed at Bernier by some posters is fairly confusing. The guy has been consistently good to great all year and has been flat-out better than Reimer recently.

I like both goalies, but I think Bernier has gained the edge right now. Reimer will probably do something similar before the season ends.

So I see McLement played over 20 minutes. Third most forward ice time and just seconds behind Kessel. There was only one penalty to kill all game, as well.
Yup, sounds about right.

I don't think it's really directed AT Bernier. He's a good goalie for sure. It's just confusing how he basically eludes criticism while Reimer is criticized for any mistake, sometimes the same mistakes made by Bernier.

Maybe his rebound control and positioning fuels fan and media confidence.

Were people not asking that Bernier be pulled before any shoot out? Is that not criticism? There's also been some focusing on Bernier's recent record and SV%.

Really like the play of Reilly last night.  Very creative thinker, picks good times to join the rush, amazing acceleration.  I wish the leafs would protect him a bit more when he jumps in.  Seems when he jumps in, not one of the other three forwards wants to cover the hole at back.  I can see why his plus minus would be getting out of control.  He's going to be the franchise for leafs in coming years IMO.

They have 6 points out of 8 in their last 4 games. As bad as they have been they are eaking out a decent record. I think they will settle down a bit with Bozo back. Will allow McClement back on the 4th line with Smithson back to Marlies. Can't wait for Bolland to heal up.

McLement "earned" 20 minutes of ice time yesterday despite the Leafs having to kill only one penalty. I have a hard time believing that Bozak coming back will relugate McLement to the 4th line, despite the fact that that is exactly where he belongs.

Yes Randy does have his Dandy's, McClemment, Orr and the others. I have nothing against McClement, great 4th line centre and penalty killer, that is his place.
