Kadri wearing Phaneuf like a backpack going to the net, nothing.

AND THEY CALL THAT???

Ffs

The Kadri Effect

Legit call on the hold though.

Ya but they easily could have called the Senator for interference or whatever the dumb call call is now for the D not letting the forward go by. Didn't call that so let both go then.

Well, they just didn't get it done.  Blown all the games in hand.  But, we shouldn't have expected even this much.

Bummer result, but what a game to watch!
Things will look very interesting next year as better shooters and skaters start bubbling into the lineup.

Agreed, a bounce here a bounce there and we would have at least tied going into OT. And then anything can happen. We miss the Gran Marner.

Can you imagine how many wins we'd have if Komarov could actually shoot?

Yeah, it's time to part company if they can get anything at all for him at the deadline.  He's been meh meh meh all season.

I wouldn't mind seeing him, Gardiner, JVR, and/or Bozak all go before next year.  They all have value.

On my other Leaf site and one fella posting how Babcock has to be blamed and is probably the worst coach for the Leafs for team blowing so many 3rd period leads. Not sure if I'd go that far but he has to take some of the heat. Whether it's the youngsters or crappy system or otherwise it has been brutal how many games or points we've squandered. Whether we deserved this game or not there comes a time when you have to play smarter and defend a lead. The team has grown leaps and bounds, exciting to watch and futures bright but frustrating as hell how many games we've let get away.

Komarov at least gets into position to frustrate me with his lack of shooting ability. I can't say the same for the other LWs in the lineup (other than Hyman, and JvR every 3-4 games).

Well

No time out by the coach. DUMB
Kadri's penaly. STUPID
Reilly soft player in the first. NOT ALLOWED, Knock the guy down.
Gardiner. Don't even get me going on this. I hope we trade him.

FFS, we got the lead. Take advantage of the situation. If don't get into the Playoffs, tonight will be why. This game had nothing to do with the Rookies or Veterans, This was all defence. (and why is Smith playing it should be the Goat)

I agree.  Those 4 and even Polak I am sure would get some solid younger assets.

Tonights result might actually turn out to be a good thing. If they do continue on this little tail spin leading up to the trade deadline, I wonder if that changes the whole approach for this season? Maybe the tank toggle gets switched back on and they wind up with another decent pick from it. Next year they come out a year wiser and hopefully a gear faster. And with more defensive punch.
