Sens vs Habs

And there's a lot to look at for sure!

They'll take a look at Bourque's elbow, for sure - and he's a repeat offender. He has 2 other suspensions in the last 18 months. Gallagher was lucky he didn't end up with an instigator, otherwise that's an automatic game because it was in the last 5 minutes - but, they'll take a look at that play, as well. They'll take a look at White's slash and the role it played in starting a brawl, as well as everyone involved in the brawl. It'll be an interesting day for Shanny tomorrow.

MacLean: I'm classless? This is another disrespectful thing? They were doing a good job of (humiliating) themselves...dont need my help."

Sens fans calling for Georges' head.  What did he do?

Shot the puck at Turris at the end of the game I think, he also called the walrus a piece of excrement.

Before you guys get started on this, I haven't seen a single Sens fan complain about him shooting the puck at Turris,

Canadiens Post Game Podium

Michel Therrien calls it ''classless'' for Paul MacLean to call a timeout with 17 seconds to go.
Senators Post Game Podium

Paul MacLean defends his decision to call a timeout in the blowout and fires back at Michel Therrien.

Bwahahaha

These first-round matchups often produce some of the most entertaining hockey of the year.  For some reason, in certain series the stars align and both coaches go off their rocker.

Because it deserves a mention in this thread most of all

From DGB:

Great Hockey Debates

In which we employ the Socratic method in an attempt to settle the issues that have long plagued hockey fans.

This Week?s Debate: Should we stay classy?

In Favor: Stay classy, player I don?t like!

Opposed: Oh, god, are you one of those hockey fans who says this all the time?

In Favor: Stay classy, team I don?t like!

Opposed: Stop that.

In Favor: Stay classy, fans who cheer for that team I don?t like!

Opposed: Please stop saying that.

In Favor: Stay classy, Opposed guy!

Opposed: We all saw Anchorman. It came out almost 10 years ago.

In Favor: Stay classy, people who saw Anchorman!

Opposed: Are you fundamentally capable of communicating in any way other than admonishing people to ?stay classy??

In Favor: Stay classy, people who ask me questions to which the answer is clearly ?No, I absolutely am not?!

Opposed: Look, you?re not even talking about class. You don?t even sound like you know what that word means. You?re just using a punch line from a movie as a catch-all rebuke for anyone who does anything that remotely bothers you.

In Favor: Stay classy, people who use the word rebuke!

Opposed: What does class even have to do with hockey in the first place? For 100 years, hockey was a sport full of hitting and slashing and stopping periodically to punch each other in the face, and fans loved it. Now suddenly we?re acting like everyone?s supposed to be wearing top hats and monocles, just because morons who can?t formulate an actual thought on their own saw a joke in a movie one time and decided to repeat it mindlessly whenever something happens that they don?t like?

In Favor: Stay classy, guy who talks in long paragraphs!

Opposed: SAY ?STAY CLASSY? ONE MORE TIME, AND I SWEAR I WILL STAB YOU!

In Favor: ?

Opposed: ?

In Favor: That escalated quickly.

Opposed: Much better.

The Final Verdict: Everyone who uses the word classy when complaining about anything NHL-related is an idiot, and you should send them a link to this post so they know it.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhgggg

That was a rough one, dude.

What did you guys say after game 1?  Doesn't matter if you lose 6-1 or 1-0, one game is one game?  Can I use that?

Honestly, they embarrassed themselves in so many ways tonight.  Their behaviour was even worse than the score.

well it's true..it all equals 1 loss..so it just depends on what montreal does with it...but yeah...i have to say it isn't looking good for montreal...every team ends up making them look so ..small

The team chemistry looks dysfunctional and I think it may start with PK.  If the rumours about him being a dressing room cancer are true, I'm worried.  He needs to be snuffed out by the coach or other leaders but I think he's one of those guys you just can't change.  That clip of him shouting at Pacioretty was pretty telling, I think.

I expect they'll bounce back next game but there could be some long term issues here with our supposed core guys.

Yeah...pk was frustrated...but maybe he's just short tempered....didn't seem like a positive though..

i wonder if leaving price right to the end seemed an interesting choice.

These two teams must have forgotten it's the playoffs.  You don't brawl and do disgraceful things, you know.. (*sotto voce*) unless of course you're the Sens & the Habs!  ;D

You may enjoy the hfboards thread on this game.

It seems like fans of all the other 29 teams have formed a temporary alliance in order to crap on the Canadiens.

There goes Sucker again.

After the game is over he moves on to his 2nd favorite sport, Schadenfreude :)

that's okay. If the sens go on to eliminate the habs, those 29 teams will shift to crap on the sens instead??.

The Hockey Central at Noon guys do nothing but give P.K. tongue baths about what a "great guy!" he is.  Oh jeez, he's just so wonderful.

I hope they were watching last night's game.

As we've seen firsthand, the Habs just don't know how to handle a truly physical attack. It throws them off their games, big time, and the respond with a lot of cheap shots.

I usually don't have a hate-on for the Habs but seeing them react like this (in a physical game) against the Leafs and now a similar reaction against the Sens has me hoping the Habs season ends soon. They excel in drama, hissy fits and cheap shots. Is there a more dislikable player in the league than Subban ?

You can use them all. A loss is a loss, no matter the margin. As long as the team can shake any of the embarrassment away and come out focused for game 4...

Marchant comes to mind....and for me Chara.
