Sens vs Habs

Canadiens Post Game Podium

Michel Therrien calls it ''classless'' for Paul MacLean to call a timeout with 17 seconds to go.
Senators Post Game Podium

Paul MacLean defends his decision to call a timeout in the blowout and fires back at Michel Therrien.

Bwahahaha

For some reason I was actually watching this...must have been to see how dirty both teams could play...more Habs than Sens at the end. After Bourque ran at Turis and cross checked him, and the slap shot at him at the end of the game....I don't blame him for calling the timeout at all. The Habs played like a classless team at the end running after Turis and a few others...they won't last more than 3 more game. Shanahan will be busy today with Bourque and Sedin and some others to go over. Then we can see what his Magic 8 Ball gives out for suspensions.

I'm seeing the chatter about this game this morning?..and wow, this is really hard for me to say (and I think Sucker Punch and Mad Ferret will probably keep this post to repost in the future and rub my nose in it) but kudos to Chris Neil for standing up for his teammates when White started all this bs with his dirty play.

Also kudos to McLean for outcoaching the other doofus.

gaaaaaaaah!!! (I shall go do penance now)

Ahhh it's been a while since we have seen Michael Therien go nuts.  I had assumed he was on some new meds or something.  Guess not.  He was still kind of subdued for Therien though.  8)

No supplementary discipline.

Grubs gets 2 games for a clean hit. Bourque gets nothing.  Clear elbow to the head of a defenceless and unsuspecting oppenent. 2 suspensions in the past 18 months, and a history of both elbows and headshots.

So we're solely suspending players based on injury now? But then why did Cooke not get suspended?

Too lazy to go through the huge pile of evidence maybe?  Bourque's should have been 2 at least.  But I guess 0 makes sense, since the last suspension on Gryba should have been 0 and was 2.  :P

In fairness this game started last night with an early cross check to the face of Subban by Conacher I think??  It was not even penalized.  So there are many events that went unpunished here.

I found myself cheering for Cowan when he absolutely destroyed White, he stood up for a teammate who had just been two handed without hesitation and absolutely mauled White.

I think White largely created last night's crap when he was acting like a douche trying to fight Latendresse at the end of game 2.  Between him and Gallagher acting tough with no one to back it up the Habs got what they deserved last night.  Not to mention bashing Sen's coach who the players seem to love.  Not smart by the Habs.

As we've seen firsthand, the Habs just don't know how to handle a truly physical attack. It throws them off their games, big time, and the respond with a lot of cheap shots.

I usually don't have a hate-on for the Habs but seeing them react like this (in a physical game) against the Leafs and now a similar reaction against the Sens has me hoping the Habs season ends soon. They excel in drama, hissy fits and cheap shots. Is there a more dislikable player in the league than Subban ?

Gallagher.

Marchant comes to mind....and for me Chara.

Todd Marchant?  Impossible.  You must mean Marchment, no?

For me, Kaleta is the worst.  But Gallagher is catching up quickly.

Perhaps they meant Bard Marchand?

So last week I saw a bunch of cars driving around with Habs flags, this morning I saw a lack of that.  Coincidence?

I don't watch enough Habs games for him to be on my list....it was nice seeing Kadri run him over though :D I forgot about Kaleta though.

I didn't expect any suspensions from last night.  The only one I thought that might get a phone call was Gorges.  Thought he might get a warning.  But Alfie didn't get in trouble when he did it to Neidermayer either.

Classless from Shanahan not to lay down some supplemental discipline for the lack of class shown by these teams, even by the classy guys on some good Canadian class act teams.

Yeah that was pretty funny.  Maclean has a way of turning these criticisms around.

There has got to be several suspensions from the game.  Else every game could get ugly like that.

Suspensions would be the classy move, I mean really, where is the class?
