Sens vs Habs

Watched the entire 3rd and OT, had a feeling Sens would win that game despite the fact it was 2-0 when I started watching.  Trying to protect that 2 goal lead is always dangerous, one crappy goal got the Sens and crowd into it, and they just kept coming.  Still, with the goalie out and the puck inside the Sens zone, the Habs really should have sealed it.  Oh well, it put a smile on my face last night anyway.

A lot of opinion on the FAN today that Zibanejad (spelling?) kicked the puck in for the first goal. It did kinda look that way, but feh.

I thought it was a bad goal on Budaj until I saw the replay and saw it go off 61.

No idea how NHL decides anything these days???

Check out the 1:10 mark. If that's not kicking the puck in???

As a comparable here is a goal that would have kept Wild out of playoffs. 1:27 mark

Could have been called back but the Sens player attempted to play the puck with his stick, it actually touches his stick, and he's also stopping at the same time otherwise he'd crash right into Price if he keeps staking.  In the process of stopping he "accidentally on purpose" directed the puck in.  His foot doesn't change direction as a kicking motion, it's a stopping motion.  It was a split second play, of course slowing it down on super-slo mo makes it look worse, but he was using his feet to stop.

Edit: your link to the 2nd goal isn't working.

He doesn't really move his foot forward. Maybe a little bit but that could be a result of stopping. You are allowed to direct the puck in with your skate. There really isn't a distinct kicking motion.

The more replays I watch, the more I see it as a good goal. The foot moves, yes, but mostly out of momentum than anything else. There's no "distinct kicking motion" there, and, on top of that, if he has the skill to put the puck off his stick and off his foot intentionally like he did there, than he deserves the goal.

Plus it's against the Habs -- good goal.

the way this series is going, the more upset I get that the Leafs laid an egg in that final game vs. the habs this year.

ooooh what might have been.

I'm working as a teacher at a school for adults with learning disabilities, and there is a student there who is a huge Habs fan.  He wears some kind of Canadiens gear to school every single day.

The poor guy was literally in tears today, it was the first time I felt bad for a Habs fan.  It made it really difficult to taunt him relentlessly all day.
