Coaching can lead to the team being bogged down and appear to have no legs.

Yeah, I dunno, professional players should be giving a better effort overall and I'm seeing a fair bit of half heart and brain farts. Changing the coach at this point seems fairly irrelevant to me, face punchers aside and unpopular an opinion as that might be.

But why was this never an issue before Carlyle came aboard?  It's been gradually turning into this ever since he arrived.

I'm not convinced it was 'never' an issue but it seems like a bit of a descent this year so far. Right now they are weak down the middle, no Bolland and half a Bozak... and maybe they started to assume the goalies would keep bailing them out?

It's hard to know for sure, I'm not in the room but I doubt they're really tuning out Carlyle, it's probably a bit of everything right now.

...and Raymond, yay

You just have to look at the shots for/against the past seasons.  This started getting really bad towards the end of last season and has simply continued this season.

Unrelated: Rielly quietly has 9 assists this year.

Just a coincidence I'm sure, but Holland switches with Bozak and the top line has their best shift of the game.

Again, just a coincidence.

Sure, but this certainly has been magnified during a time when they're short/have been very short on talent in a key area, at centre. Also, they're just not nearly physical enough for me overall and it's tough to teach physical.

Didn't the team fall off a cliff under Wilson too?
