Remind me why we're not playing Erixon?

Also, how do you keep a name like "Micro Mueller" out of your lineup?!? That name is awesome!  :-)

My best guess: The teams only 3 regular defenders left, Phaneuf, Rielly, Gardiner, are all offensive guys, and two of them are still fairly inexperienced. They want Brewer and MacWilliam there for veteran-y reasons and to replace the physicality that Polak brought. They also look like guys that can handle penalty killing duties. So then it comes down to Brennan and Erixon, and they probably give the edge to Brennan because of what he brings to the powerplay.

Bernier confirmed as starter, earning it after his brilliance in Edmonton.

EDIT:

Just looking at it, since January began both Bernier and Reimer have an identical .901 SV%.

Lines from @markhmasters:

Panik-Bozak-Kessel
JVR-Smith-Booth
Lupul-Komarov-Kozun
Lindstrom-Carrick-Sill

Komarov at centre. I guess that's better than Carrick or Sill at 3C?

Trevor Smith is our #2 center now.  I know Kadri's out but our center depth is hilarious.  IT has been for years.  I think the big question for tonight is whether Joe Thornton gets a citation for Sexual Misconduct.

i read they're mathematically out of the playoffs..so really is there anyone that actually wants them to win a game for the rest of the year?

If the final game of the season doesn't effect the standings I guess I might cheer for them then.

I'm torn re: the Ottawa games.

It's also hard to imagine a 14-game losing streak to end the year so if they are going to win a game or two down the stretch, Ottawa wouldn't be terrible to win against.

How about split the Ottawa ones, but beat the habs?

All that really matters at this point is that we lose enough games to stay below Carolina and Columbus. In an ideal world you do that while beating Ottawa and Montreal, though.
