Luke Schenn, whom I had written off as too slow for this league, is in the Stanley Cup final.

(Helps to be carried by Hedman and McDonagh)

No getting around the fact that either Schenn or Polak will end up with a cup ring for this year.

(I assume they do rings like they do in Baseball re: Polak)

It looks like he'll get his name engraved at least, if Dallas wins. The requirement for that is 41 regular season games or 1 game in the Final, and Polak played exactly 41 games.

They just sweep in and out of the slot, always in motion. Crease goals are higher in xG (theoretically) but in practice that is really only when the goalie is out of position; see Hyman, unless you are JvR or Simmonds and really good at manipulating goaltender movement in tight and have soft, quick hands.

That might just be because Tampa doesn't have any dominant net-front presence guys... like Nylander.

His first big contract season I could see they told Nylander to go to the net. But he was just mindlessly getting there and setting up and then having to truck back on defense because his linemates couldn?t pass or shoot. He got almost no touches after setting up in the zone. It?s so much more effective when the net front arrives when a play is made.

Schenn is holding his own and playing limited minutes (avg 11 per game) Just doing his job. He's made some really good plays and has kept his mistakes to a minimum. Good for him.

now that was a decent rendition of both national anthems.

where do we petition to have this one every game? Even pre-recorded, they're better than any other version of either anthem I've heard all season.

Dallas should've pulled Khudobin when they had possession. Also why aren't they pulling Khudobin with an o-zone faceoff? So weird.

Dallas should've pulled way earlier, but honestly I'd be pretty pissed it they won. Imo it'd be the most mediocre team to win in the last 10-15yrs.

I like Shattenkirk's game. Seems to me the Leafs should have interest.
Really? I don't think he's very good at all. Dallas' 2nd goal in game 2 was his fault. He put Dallas' 2nd goal in his own net this game, then took a penalty after that. Not a fan of him at all.
