Stars @ Leafs - Dec. 5th, 7:00pm - LeafsTV, SN 590

They need to give Liles another crack, even just to showcase him. He's gotta be a better option than Fraser or Ranger every game.

Can that happen right now based on the cap?  Bozak was on LTIR when he was last brought up.  Wondering if that holds him back since it's the main reason why he's in the AHL to begin with.

I'm pretty sure with Bolland on LTIR the cap isn't really a problem right now.

Leafs will win this tonight.

I agree.

I think they can and will build off the Sharks game.

(but if they don't, something big gonna happen tomorrow)

That's my thinking.  Sometimes during a slump you'll see a team play better and still lose a game, but positive signs trending towards finally getting out of it.  They were in the game vs. the Sharks and didn't get embarrassed, I think they build off that tonight and get back into the win column.

Zee...I'm placing all my confidence in your prediction for tonight. Don't let me down.  ;)

The amount of cap space the Leafs have to clear to bring up Liles at any point in the season is minimal.

Define minimal as it applies to the current situation. Is there enough room to give him a game, do you think?

They have to clear the full season equivalent of $925K. There's a number of individual players who can (and should) be sent down to accommodate that.

Loiselle explained it the other day, they're only saving something like $925k on Lile's salary on the cap, so they're still paying over 2 million for him. For him to play they'd only have to clear that much ($925 or whatever it was)

Edit: beaten like a mule by busta!

So Smithson clearing doesn't do it all by himself I would presume. There's certainly no shortage of names that should fall back in order to give Liles a shot, but I'm sure the waiver wire deters most opportunities from happening.

Not on his own, no, but, with him off the roster, sending back D'Amigo and literally anyone else on the roster would cleanup enough cap space.

Oh look, Colton Orr's salary is $925k

Interesting. Well, given that bit of information, I would think Liles may very well get an opportunity sometime soon.

I'm so confident I've already placed the win in the 3rd chunk of 10.  Nutman has dropped the confidence ball, give me the power.

Lets hope that Kadri and bring his A Game. I dont personally think he is at that level yet, but what choice do they have. Please take something from the Sharks game and add to it. WIN... GLG..
