The 2012-2013 Toronto Raptors thread: My Name is Jonas

Thought of this one today and feel free to flame away... 'Raptor' (the dumbest name for a NBA team ever) means 'Bird of Prey.' What about the 'Toronto Birds of Prey?'

The Raptors would keep part of their tradition alive (not there is much) and at the same time, completely detach themselves from the goofy Jurassic Park thing.

Yeah, 'Birds of Prey' is something of a mouthful but it is after all, just three syllables and well, so is 'Maple Leafs.'

Edit: Heck, they could even modify the secondary logo of dinosaur talon to a generic bird of prey talon without the casual observer taking much notice. - And just make that primary.

Well then, let them keep the "Raptors" name! 

To tell you the truth, it's the uniforms I've never liked.  Something better and more keenly pleasing should be in the offing, I hope.

Raptors will host 2016 All-Star game. Drake has been appointed the team's World Wide Ambassador. I don't know what that means either.
