The Habs Thread - Reloaded

Kessels contract with the leafs was around 5 million.  I know there was not an offer sheet, however burke threatened one(I doubt Nonis would have the balls for that).  Why did we give up so much for Kessel when we could have got him for a 1st and  a 3rd.

Kessel's contract with the Leafs is for $5.4M per, and, at the time, would have cost a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd, and there was no guarantee the Bruins wouldn't have matched and worked their way out the cap issues through other avenues. Burke upped the 3rd to another 1st to ensure the Leafs got their man.

Kaberle's a healthy scratch today. Ouch.

Defenceman Tomas Kaberle is day-to-day after catching a puck in the face during practice Saturday.

Won't be long before they're talking again.

It'll be interesting to look back at this in a couple of years. Might have been worth it for the Habs to sign him long-term now instead of getting a pretty good rate for the next two seasons and having to throw even bigger money at him after. Especially considering that they sit pretty good cap-wise this season and next (assuming there's a Kaberle buyout).

Michel Therrien bans high-fives (or something like that):

Goalie Carey Price, who will start against Buffalo, said the team has banned the "triple low-fives" victory celebration he and Subban used to perform after home wins in favour of a team salute to the fans.

Therrien is such an idiot.  I just don't get why he would bother with this.  I can't stand him.

Now we get to participate in the most insincere "celebration" there is by saluting the fans with that shy, reserved stick raise at centre ice.

Talk about an ice-cold welcome for Subban.  What an embarrassment.

Baseball players do crazy handshakes/high fives all time and it doesn't seem to hinder the "team concept" or whatever the hell Therrien was talking about. What a dumb idea.

Must be more than just "team concept" to Therrien's approach.

Actually, I don't see how this "triple low fives" can ruin the idea of there being no "team concept", unless of course, Subban's gesture (because it involves Subban himself & Price) may be irksome to some of the Habs players (who aren't necessarily big P.K. Subban fans).  Could this be?

"Hey u bum. u face 10 shots and give up 2 goals. stevie f---ing wonder could do a better job," Capjak tweeted.

Hockey players usually ignore such criticisms, but the Habs goalie decided to respond hours later with his own tongue-in-cheek retort.

"I'm still your moms favourite player," Price replied back.

hahaha, this made me laugh.

It's a shame he's going to have to claim his account was hacked tomorrow.

I'm no Habs supporter, but Julien and the Bruins are embarrassing when they do stuff like that.  I watched the entire game and they're fortunate they didn't end up with more penalties.

I hate the fact that the Habs have gone from 15th to 1st in one season.  Where's our ridiculously un-expected turnaround?  Sure they have Price, but looking at his stats and his .910% it's not all him.  The Leafs goalies actually have better save percentages.  So what gives?

I don't know but I have stopped rooting for them to lose each night.. If they are playing someone under us I want them to win. Hence I hope they beat the Senators tongiht in regualtion. we are not catching montreal
