I laughed my head off.....but I'll need a translation.

maybe SP can help us out? Or MountPearl, if you're still around.

A question about tv's...I've heard that it's only plasma screens that could get a burn-in....but after searching for it on google I can read that LCD's can get it too...but it seems as if people can't agree on whether that's possible or not....

So here's the deal, I constantly see a part the teletext when watching tv. At first I didn't notice, but when looking closer I can see it. I see it when I use my mediaplayer as well. Any ideas on how to fix this? or could it be temporary? I tried to turn off the tv and all the other equipment and started it again after 5 minutes, but it was still the same.

Mine's a plasma, but in the TV menu there's a utility called a screen-wipe. Basically it "wipes" a bright white bar across the screen for 15 minutes and clears away the burned in image.

?The arse fell right out of ?er, bye,?

Sounds like the Leaf penalty kill.

My wife is getting an iPad through work, but who are we kidding, I'll be having the iPad for game day threads.

I want a new computer but I can't find any good deals on parts! The cost of Core i5 and i7 processors has been the same since they were released over 9 months ago! I'm absolutely shocked. Anyone know of a place with base prices for good parts?

I get all my parts from either NCIX, PC Village or Tiger Direct. All 3 are in Markham around HWY 7 & Woodbine Ave. I'll go to whoever is giving the best deal. I've had PC Village build a few PC's for me with the parts I wanted, I was able to negotiate prices each time. :)

Hmm... Maybe I should go in and negotiate. Here's what I've got so far but I want to bring the price down.

i5 2500k = $230
EVGA 560Ti 448 Classified = $310
Maximus IV = $180
8GB Corsair = $40
WD Caviar Green 640GB = $120 (Barracuda Infonec $140 1TB)
Samsung monitor 24" LED = $200 (E-Outlet)

$1220.40 w/tax

I think I can do better. That's a huge chunk of change... Although I don't really want to skimp out and have to upgrade.

Can anyone comment on this mobo? I really like the 2500k and it's unlocked and can overclock. Just wondering if this is a good deal or not for both, and if the mobo is any good.

There's some way you can install apps less legitimately.  Never had anything android, so I don't know how, but I see tons of android apps on torrent sites.

Google what to do with a .apk file.

I know it's been mentioned with not great reviews earlier in this thread, but I'm seriously looking at the 32GB Playbook.  It's on for $249 in several stores. I'm due to update my phone (iPhone 3GS), so I'd then go back to Blackberry and give my wife the old iPhone, as she's always using mine.

The reviews are getting better all the time for the Playbook, with each update they do. And in February they're supposed to be able to run Android apps, I think I read somewhere.

No, no SNL. Ali G is one of Sacha Baren Cohen's alter egos. He did a series of shows in England as "The Ali G Show" (I think that's what they called it) and it was just him having at it with whatever the topical issues of the day were.

Pre-Borat, I think. And not as funny. My husband loves it, I can't stand it myself.

Amazing technology.  George Orwell would be spinning in his grave though.  Like every invention it has its benefits and risks.  How does the technology differentiate between co-conspirators and people who are having an innocuous conversation with a suspect??
