Kaka will join Orlando FC for the 2015 season.

Their expansion cousins NYCFC (aka Manchester Yankees) made an earlier splash by signing David Villa (Spain, Athletico Madrid). They have loaned him out to Australia's Melbourne City for the rest of this season.

The TFC have a chance to take possession of second place in the Eastern Conference with a win at home over the Chicago Fire this evening, but will have to do without the services of striker Gilberto, on the shelf with a recurring injury.

The TFC (6-2-4) are currently enjoying one of their most successful seasons to date.

GO TFC!!

That TFC game is actually a road game at Toyota Park.

Road game?  A win will make it worthwhile, as the Toronto FC have had plenty of trouble in so much as ekeing out a win in Chicago over the last several seasons.

TFC played the last 61 minutes a man down after Luke Moore saw a straight red card. Jackson opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, but the Fire made some adjustments in their attack at the half. A Chicago goal in the 52nd minute ended the scoring. A 1-1 draw on the road is not a bad result, considering their record in Chicago and being a man down for most of the night.

TFC now have 21 points in 13 games. That's good for 4th in the East but only 4 points out of 1st. They have 3 games in hand on leaders Sporting KC. Next up is a 3 game homestand starting with DC United on Saturday.

On the telecast last night it was suggested Bradley would be back for Saturday, probably coming off the bench.

Houston scored the first 2 goals at BMO Field this evening. However, the scoring was far from over. TFC had it tied at 2 by halftime, with the 2nd goal coming in added time from a beautiful transition play started by Jonathon Osorio, developed by Jermain Defoe and finished off by Dominic Oduro. Defoe then added 2 goals of his own in the 2nd half. That gives his 10 on the season and gave TFC a 4-2 win over the Dynamo. The Reds now sit 3rd in the East on 24 points, 5 points back of 2nd place Sporting KC with 3 games in hand.

Great win!  Having Dafoe certainly has helped the TFC in the offensive category.  Shrewd signing.

GO TFC!!

The TFC sideshow continues on.  They fired their coach today.

Calling out the GM the way Nielsen did after yesterday's game will usually have that reaction.

I don't really fault the move because you really can't have that, but it's just the continued side-show antics of this franchise.  GM after GM who can't put together a cohesive winning team and then just firing the coach year after year so a consistent system can't be put in place.
