I'm now about to start a book i've had on my radar for a few years now:

Jumping in way late, but I've read almost all of Coupland's books and that one is my personal favourite. I hope you enjoyed the read as much as I did.

Yeah I really enjoyed "Hey Nostradamus!".  I haven't read many Coupland books (only Microserfs and this one actually) but I may have to try a few more.

Just started 11/22/63 by Stephen King. It's nearly impossible to put down. Riveting 200+ pages in.

I keep planning on reading more classics but King to me is just so damn satisfying.

I've always found Stephen King to be a superb writer who doesn't get the recognition he deserves due to the genre he writes in. (Also because he is popular and prolific.)

I don't know of many other writers who consistently write characters that you really care about.

I devoured that book when it came out, great novel from start to finish.

Agreed. Although some may be surprised/disappointed this wasn't a typical Horror novel which he is known for. But still a damn good book nevertheless.

Finally finished up my Night Angel trilogy, my reading has slowed down considerably the last few weeks with the new kid in the house.

Started reading "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks".  Really good book so far, all about a woman who died of cervical cancer, but not before a doctor took a sample of her cells.  They named them HeLa cells and they've become some of the most important cells in research now.  Used to do all sorts of experiments and have helped in finding a polio vaccine among other things.  HeLa is known as an "immortal" cell line in that it just keeps growing (and has been since 1951).  Interesting and sometimes disturbing look at how doctors and researchers worked way back in the 50s with regards to ethics and not telling patients and family anything about what they were doing to them (especially poor families or in this case black and poor families)

Soon to be movie.

Zee, I did look for and find Unbroken but not n paperback...  :-\ I'm el-cheapo!

Yeah you'll have to wait for a bit, it came out this year and has been on the bestseller lists.  It's being made into a movie too so eventually it'll be out in paperback.  I read all my books on the Kindle so it's way cheaper than buying hardcover books.

$26.99 for the audio book. I'm tempted by the preview. 13 hours long. I guess if I went that route I should post in the " what is someone reading to you?" thread.

Currently I'm getting back into the Xanth series by Piers Anthony. It's sci-fi fantasy and there are so many books in the series.

As usual, I'm behind on all things technical but I was given a playbook a short time ago. The only app I've bought and probably ever will is a reader. I was also given a disk with l hundreds of epub files and between that end everything else I can download, I might have just bought my last actual book.  :o Reading this way is just so great. - Especially at night. I wish I had jumped on board sooner. Anyway, I know have Unbroken but I might have to push the read back a bit. - I have just so much reading to do. I've promised myself I'm going to finally read all 13 of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series by the end of the summer, broken up with select read in between (Unbroken likely being one of the first.) - That's a couple dozen books between now and then which is a lot for me.

You got the time, not like we're watching the Leafs or anything!

It's been on my "to be read" list for years and only finally got around to reading it because it was free but The Art of War by Sun Tzu was all I expected it to be and more. Some lessons there that can be applied to business, coaching, and life in general for sure.

I just finished "The Glamour of Grammar."  :P

Before that was A.J. Jacobs's The Year of Living Biblically, which had some humourous moments. I enjoyed it; I'm going to read his earlier book about reading the entire Encyclopedia Brittanica. He's also got a new book: Drop Dead Healthy, One Man's Humble Quest for Bodily Perfection.

I saw an interview with Jacobs a few weeks ago, I liked the idea of putting a treadmill in front of my computer...

Recently finished Tough Sh1t - Kevin Smith and am reading Steve Jobs - Walter Isaacson right now.

As a fan of Kevin Smith, his book was a fun read, especially the detail he got into regarding Bruce Willis behaviour on Cop Out.  The Steve Jobs book is very interesting, I'm about 500 pages into the 1750 pages of the ebook and so far it's painted a picture of a genius, who happened to be a complete bastard to almost everyone around him.

Reading this. Half way through...interesting read!

Since Christmas, I've gone on one hell of a Stephen King bender.

I've read (in order) Salem's Lot, The Shinning, Misery, Night Shift, The Long Walk, Different Seasons, Joyland and now am almost finished Pet Semetary.

The only one I didn't like was The Long Walk.... I absolutely loved Salem's Lot and Misery.  Joyland and Pet Semetary are fantastic too.

Going to read The Stand and The Dark Tower series next but man, they are daunting when you look at them as a whole.
