Toronto Maple leafs positive thinking thread.... Please.

When Gardiner and Reilly are unleashed, they can be real fun to watch.  I'd love to see them on a puck-possession style system.

As soon as it's so improbable that the Leafs can take the 8th
slot, they will win every game and weaken their draft pick.

Will history repeat itself?
Dave Nonis was asked to defend the season in a 3 p.m. meeting Monday. Francesco Aquilini didn't like what he heard and three hours later, he acted in a swift and decisive manner.

If the Leafs do the unthinkable and make the playoffs, they will almost certainly be the hottest team in the NHL when the playoffs begin.

the Heroic Shrimp has hit the clam on the shell. If we get on a tear and do make it, then it could end up being like before the Olympics, (which should have been delayed for all us Loaf fans until the summer) when we where unstoppable,

Except for their 1st round opponent the Bruins who are 23-3-2 since Jan 20.

But, the Leafs would have already beaten the Bruins on April 3rd (tomorrow night), heading into their playoff series, if they were to make it. ;)

How f'in, positive do you want us to be? :o

No, it's true, the Leafs must beat the Bruins and that would be a bit of a statement heading into a post-season matchup.  I'm sure the Bruins will be up for the game regardless with the potential to eliminate the Leafs two years in a row.Just a general statement that whoever draws that 2nd wild-card spot is in for a world of hurt this time of year.

Morgan Reilly is tied for 3rd in the league in rookie assists -- most amongst rookied defensemen --- and has played fewer games than the guys ahead of him.

Phil Kessel is +1 on the season.  In his previous 4 years with the team he is a cumulative -41.  He has never been a plus player with the Leafs before.

That means he's good at the defenses.  Unless it falls back below 0, then he sucks at the defenses.

I want to Leafs to make the playoffs but not in the 8th spot. Meeting Boston would be a train wreck. If somehow the hockey gods can make things happen that the Leafs clean slate their four remaining games AND end up in the 7th spot (yes it might require more than a miracle) but that is what I am hoping for.

If by chance we do finish 7th, do we meet Pitt in the first round?

In the East, only Pittsburgh and Boston have more wins at home than the Leafs.

With a win on home ice tomorrow vs Winnipeg , the Leafs will hold a playoff spot.

What if it's exactly 0?
