TRADE DAY: Sandin / Engvall / Schenn

That's all Dubas could get for Engvall?  Jesus.

Sorry, are we talking about the same Pierre Engvall who is going to be a UFA at the end of the year?  I'd say that's reasonable value for a 3'rd/4'th line forward who doesn't project into a significant post-season player.

A 3rd rounder for a 30-point pending UFA forward with a history of underperforming for long stretches (including playoffs) seems fine.

I don't think so.  He's a regular bottom 6 guy.  A second at least.

You?re dreaming, dude. 3rd round is pretty standard return for Engvall types.

After this spree it's definitely sink or swim for Dubas.

Presumably they aren't thinking of him as a rental.  Nope, don't agree.

This is absolutely bonkers.  I don't ever recall so much turnover on a roster with only 20 something games left on the schedule.

If he used his size and battled showed more grit he would have been twice the player. Reminds me of Willy earlier in his career shy away from contact. Glad to see him go.

No, I'd say this is typical post-trade downgrading of a player.  He's played every game this year.

Yeah. And 3rd liners line Engvall go for 3rd round picks. More you overrating post trade.

I'm not sure I'm on board with the roster changing THIS much.  Keefe is going to have his hands full figuring it all out.

Find a bottom-6 pending UFA that got dealt for a 2nd rounder recently. From last year and this year Ryan Reaves, Nicolas Deslauriers, Mason Appleton, Johan Larsson, Johan Larsson, Tyler Motte, Vladislav Namestnikov, and Marcus Johansson all got moved for 3rds or 4ths. Generally most of them are similar profile guys to Engvall: 30-point defensive 3rd line types.

I'll give you this, I didn't like a 1st round loss should cost Dubas his job before. But if THIS completely blows up in his face that might be another story.

You and your damn research.  I don't have time to try to rebut this so I am doubling down on my opinion, there.

Yeah, no way he survives a R1 bow-out after doing all this.

I don?t know this is mostly shuffling the deck chairs on the bottom 6/bottom pair and recouping picks.

Trading Sandin is not a deck chair move.

With 0 Goals in 17 playoff games who doesn't use his body like he should? No way he's getting a 2nd and I like him.

So right now we have

Rielly - Brodie
McCabe - Liljegren
Giordano - Holl
Gutafsson
Schenn
Timmins

What the hell else are we doing??????
