Tyler Seguin traded to Dallas

So, the takeaway message is if your body fat drops too low, you won't be able to function at an optimal level?  Fair enough.  Sounds like I might need extra sour cream on the tacos for lunch today.  Thanks for the encouragement!  :D

I love how you guys think you know more than a Professional Athletic trainer.  He said at the end of the season he was down to 3% which he wasn't comfortable with that he needs to find ways of keeping weight on.  Next time one of you know it all's is sitting with Doug Gilmour ask him what weight he started the season and what he finished the season at. Probably about 155 lbs and about 3% body fat.  In fact ask any NHLer and they will tell you its almost impossible to maintain the weight and healthy body fat % that they start out with in training camp. Get a scale and calipers on the Blackhawks or Tampa Bay players after the final game.  Every one of them is down to nothing.  That's why all the players talk about the grind of the playoffs. They become mentally and physically exhausted partly because of the depleted fat stores in their system.

Nah, I'm just using those useless physiology, endocrinology and sports medicine lectures I sat through.

You know it's a slow offseason when the two most popular topics on the boards are the merits of Finland's traffic infraction laws and Tyler Seguin's body fat percentage.

Anyway, in the article he said that he was at 3.6%. He finished the season with 18 points in 16 games, so unless he's lying or somebody on Dallas' medical team is messing with him I'd say it didn't really effect him negatively all that much.

Also this discussion reminded me that I noticed this years combine had body fat results as well. 6 players were measured at 5% of lower. The lowest guy was measured at 4%. All 6 of those players were drafted, one in the 1st round and another in the 2nd.

Really? Nothing for the Duck joke? Fine. I'm going back to look at those Aly Raisman pictures in the Body issue.

"In my country, such a man is called a Comedian."

You would have gotten a bunch of favs for it on twitter. Maybe even an RT or two.

Was a good joke, made me chuckle. Impossible to respond to without being very awkward.

"yes, nice duck."

"Nice beak"

"quack, quack."

see: impossible.

No need to cry fowl.

You could've gone with: "That quacked me up."
