Useless Thread

I thought this was pretty cool, a map of North America with all of the names replaced by their literal meanings.

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/map_of_the_week/2013/06/literal_meanings_of_places_in_the_u_s_map.html

Toronto, Ontario becomes Meeting Place, Land of the Beautiful Lake and the two teams left in the Stanley Cup represent St. Heraldwolfe's Stone, Land at the Little Big Hills and Stink Onions, Land of Those who Talk Normally.

So then, if Chicago doesn't win the Stanley Cup, we can truly say they "Stink"!  ;D

I'd heard that during the heyday of the Sopranos he kind of blurred the lines between himself and his character and lived a pretty hard life for a while so I can't help but think that contributed to an early death. Even so, it's really a shame to lose such a talented actor at this age. I think he just had a kid too.

Wow, a 14 year old teen boy was injured in an accident at the Red River Ex in Winnipeg on the crazy mouse ride, hope it isn't as serious as the reports are saying.

Has anybody used Wind mobile here? My Rogers contract is up this month and I might switch over. Their prices are obviously great, I'm just a little skeptical of their service because of it.

dunno how much driving around you do, but a couple of my coworkers used it, and ended up dumping it ASAP because Winds' range didn't cover the area the guys had to drive. Not sure I understand that -- North Bay to Orillia to Barrie to Toronto to Owen Sound to Parry Sound to Bancroft?there'd be no service in patchy areas, and it apparently made life miserable for them. *shrug*

Wind is only worthwhile is you don't leave the city. Their coverage area is small and isn't really meant for anyone living/working outside of the city and suburbs.

Sometimes I really dont know what im doing. Like I'm a shy, withdrawn guy, I dont like to be the centre of attention, I don't like to be noticed. And lately I've been working a lot with songwriting. And what does the idiot do today? He hires a vocal coach. LMAO, it's like letting an elephant into the art academy. I'll probably crap myself before I get there, I have no idea what im doing now. I know NOTHING about singing.

I've used it for a few years and few complaints.  You're not going to get the best service out there but it's unlimited for half the price. Good enough for me honestly.

Their 'unlimited' plans are only good if you can stay in their coverage. They do have agreements that give you service outside their network, but you're going to pay for that. Say what you will about the Big 3, but their nation-wide coverage is worth it. I went to Toronto yesterday and can only imagine what I would have paid on Wind.

Tried Wind for one day. Brutal signal where I live even though their map shows they have coverage there. Had to return the phone back.

It's too bad their coverage is lacking because they do have amazing unlimited plans.
