A ton of crappy stuff going on, but this entire story is so f'ed up. How is this not an open-and-shut murder conviction?
 
I know you're being rhetorical but the answer is because it's America. Ridiculous as it is, prosecutors have to be aware of the fact that simply establishing that a white person was afraid of a black person, for any reason, has been repeatedly used as a successful affirmative defense. Especially by cops.
 
Dellen Millard guilty of killing his dad. Good news... guilty and his inheritance is gone. Bad news... those suing him, the Bosma and Babcock families will get nothing. Glad this over.
 
I thought I'd read on Twitter that The Athletic had hired Jemele Hill which, for once, made me think that they'd hired a writer who will do stuff that is challenging and crucial to the larger questions of sport within society.

But on closer inspection she's been hired by The Atlantic, so the world remains as it was.
 
I turned 40 this year. I'm now growing out a full beard and getting my first tattoo next week.
