Wilson suspended 20 games

Over and over and over again it?s not hard to not be a dangerous hockey player.  Wilson is on strike what 15 now?  Better give him a hundred games so the arbitrator can reduce it to 20 this time.

It looks to me like he hit him in the shoulder from behind.  But I certainly could be wrong.

If you have to debate whether it was initial head contact, or any debate about a hit seeking justification, honestly, it's a bad hit regardless of the conclusion.

You also don't need to be struck in the head for a concussion.
 
It was late and on a player in a vulnerable position, not to mention from behind. He could have avoided the collision. Cheap shot and I hope they toss him. This assclown just doesn't learn.

I wasn't trying to argue it was a fair play. I just thought the penalty was for a hit to the head.

My response wasn't directed at you. The penalty was for an illegal hit to the head I think. I guess the league figured he was penalized enough tho so I guess it's ok to hit a guy late and from behind?
 
Oh, wow. Skipped over Herman's post. Unbelievable. He made really no substantial effort to get out of Seneys path, and it was too late to be a legitimate hit.

Wilson just got blindsided by Ryan Reaves in Vegas and had to be helped off the ice. He looked pretty clearly concussed.

I know this doesn't make it right, but the guy wasn't any worse than all the hits Wilson dished out.

I'm fine with there being no discipline here as it conforms to the pattern the NHL has set and, you know, it's Wilson but this does expose pretty spectacularly the idea that blindside shoulder to shoulder hits are any safer and that the NHL's discipline program has anything to do with protecting players.

Bill Masterton didn't get killed because he got hit in the head, he died because of hitting his head on the ice.

Not just hitting the head on the ice, any body contact that results in the brain being turned into a Shake n' Bake is bad news.
 
Todd Reirden's comments after Wilson delivers a blindside hit vs Wilson receiving a blindside hit are really a study in contrasts.
 
No issue with the hit seeing it's Wilson. Jailhouse justice perhaps? I suspect if this was on McDavid, Crosby, he'd be getting something.
