Winnipeg Jets Thread

They look like ripoffs of the Leafs ripoffs the Canucks use, with the 70s style shoulder/arm thing thrown onto the away jerseys.

I know im probably in the minority but I quite like the new jersey. As far as the logo goes, it might be a rip-off of another (non-hockey) logo but in my opinion, it looks better then the Flames, Hurricanes, Avalanche, Blue Jackets, Panthers, Kings, Wild, Islanders, Senators, Sharks, Capitals, and probably the Canucks too because Vancouver's is a semi-Habs rip-off. Is it a top 10 NHL logo in my mind? No, probably somewhere in the middle of the pack. Is the colour scheme of the whole package a bad one? I don't think so. In fact, I'd say it's pretty good. All in all, a fine job by True North.

Didn't care much for the logo, and so seeing a jersey with it pressed onto it doesn't really impress me either. It still all looks kind of AHLly to me.

Those are cool - I might have to get one!

If you want one the Replica's don't come out to the public until October and Authentic ones until November, the last I heard anyways.

Not a bad looking jersey, but reminds me of the HNIC ones.

The way I read this link, it's the other way around. Authentics in early October with the replicas to follow. All in all, they look pretty good to me.

It looks like something a mildly sharp Beer League team would throw together, complete with a logo cribbed from elsewhere.

wow, I'd totally forgotten Antropov was a Thrasher...so, now a Jet. His family must be so happy to be back in Canada :) wow, with Bryan Little, Alex Burmistrov and Nik Antropov on the Jets, Winnipeg just became my second favourite team.

Nice!  and welcome back Antro!

ah ok, I was going with a report I read a while ago about the release times.

I am glad Antropov is on the team, at least I won't feel that guilty cheering for them this season, if I do, except when the play the Leafs and Ducks ;D

I still want the Jets to make a deal for Corey Schneider! I can't see him being happy for too much longer serving as a back-up to Luongo, I expect Schneider to be traded to someone during this year or next summer, unless the Canucks dump Luongo (which is highly unlikely due to the contract and he is a good goalie).

Not impressed. Looks like a Leafs sweater made by a demented factory worker

Ha!Ha!  LOL (Your comment bowled me over)!!.

Now, of course, the Jets jerseys look a tad bland, dare I say a little tacky.  (I agree with someone who mentioned that the fakes look better).  The powder blue large bottom & arm  stripes on both the  home & away versions give then a 'cheap' look.  The home (dark) one looks better than the away (white).

Somehow though, instead of the light blue edging, there should have been a grey/silver smaller stripe or a combo of grey/silver & light blue edging utilizing thinner striping, both at the bottom and on the arms, for a more 'sophisticated' look.

The Islanders logo??!!  It's the best-looking one of all the teams you mentioned.  (This reply-comment coming from
an Islander fan)!  :D

As for me, I am still all too familiar with the old Jets logo & jersey.  All they would have needed to do was upgrade/update the Jet in the old logo for a more
modernized look.

Anyways, it's good to see fans get excited over a 'new' team, and yearn for their much-anticipated hockey
sweaters.  Even Jets captain Andrew Ladd was proud  to be wearing his team's jersey...  "...it's great to be able to honour the RCAF....".

I'm partial to simple and straight forward ones. The Islanders logo is neither. It remains a jumbled mess in my opinion.

The Kings and the Caps both have very simple, straight forward logos.

Honestly, if I were to rank the new Winnipeg logo, the only teams I think I can really put it ahead of are the new TBay logo, the Canucks and the Islanders. The rest of the logos around the league are, at worst, on the same level as what the Jets are now going with.

The current Kings one is junky looking, IMO and the Capitals, while simple is dull as ditch water... Though I do like their secondary logo with the wings quite a bit. As far as the other logos go, well, I guess that's a matter of personal opinion and taste.

It could always be worse:

Nothing much wrong with this one. It is well-defined and suited to the team it represents.  (Better than the Kings logo)!

Clearly, your tastes are very different than mine. I find the Islanders' logo to be really ugly (I don't like the colours, the lettering, the amorphous blob that's meant to be Long Island, etc), whereas, I find that the Kings logo is clean and crisp.

To each their own, I guess.  :)

The very best logos belong to the original six teams, no doubt.

Truth is, I find some of today's logos/jersey to be devoid of much 'sentimentality' -- as if a computer designed it from whole.  The Wild, the Canucks, the Blue Jackets, the Hurricanes, Presators, Sharks, etc., etc.  Just my impression.

The Wild?

I actually like this logo. Given that the team name is rather ambiguous, I think it's pretty well done.
