World Cup rosters being announced

In case you cared about the anthem situation, they will be played pre-game. TNA has opted to play both Can and US national anthems. Team EUR has opted to play nothing at all.

...out of nothing at all...

Re: World Cup of Hockey Team-by-team roster breakdowns

Judging by the looks of it, Ottawa, Carolina, & Buffalo have the fewest representatives (three or less players), while Tampa Bay, Chicago, & Washington have the most (nine or more players), followed by Toronto and Anaheim at eight each, respectively.

With Auston Matthews getting a shot on Team North America third line, looks like Dylan Larkin is the extra...

Really?

I know it's still early, but if someone knows of anywhere I can watch the Team NA exhibition game today online, I'd much appreciate it if you could post here.

Try www.reddit.com/r/nhlstreams closer to the time of the game.
There are already games running now for SWE vs FIN and CZE vs RUS.

For a team that finished last, it's pretty impressive they have 8 representatives in this best-on-best

Sort of. 3 of the 8 weren't Leafs last year and another 3 were part timers. Komarov and Rielly are the only guys who played full seasons with the team and taking part.

Yes yes.  I know.  I'm just saying how it's interesting that we even have that many current Leafs on there.

MacKinnon on the PP with the goal (roof job) off an Ekblad rebound. Matthews had a good view of the goal.

TNA 1 vs 0 EUR 2nd

Aside from Halak standing on his head, this game doesn't look very fair as TNA is controlling play to the point of being too fancy.

RNH takes a centering pass from Chara (oops) and pots an easy 2-0 goal after chasing down his first blocked shot.

Edit:
Gaudreau just banked it in off Halak from behind the red line in a broken transition play. 3-0.

TNA largely attacking through the LW as EUR only has LHD.

Nothing much happening in the 3rd, but Rielly playing 1LD with Ekblad, and getting a steady diet of Kopitar.

MacKinnon executes on a penalty shot, after about 6-10 stick, head, and shoulder fakes to deke Halak for a backhander. 4-0 in the 3rd.

TNA 4 vs 0 EUR Final

Matthews on the ice for 3 goals for (sort of) and the final minute to ice the game. He's not directly on the scoresheet, but his forced turnover at the blue line to keep RNH's play alive directly led to that goal, and his zone entry on the PP led to MacKinnon's first.

He played a very safe game, positioning-wise; rushed a little bit when he had the puck facing the net, but I think he'll be just fine.
