He was/is. Absent the injury he'd almost certainly have been an all-star.

As long as this "all star" wasnt expected to play D.... jeezuz... 12 year old girls could play better D... seriously... as a matter of fact , we play better D in my driveway

I can't believe it.

I watched the first 3 quarters of the Grizzlies-Clippers game and Memphis was just owning LA.  I went to bed as soon as the 3rd quarter buzzer sounded with Memphis up 21.

I just saw the Clippers came back to win.  What a comeback.

Soooo cheesed I missed it.

Randolf came back into the game and everything went to hell.  Beyond that, how did the Grizzlies only call 1 timeout in the 4th quarter.  They scored 6 points in the final 9:38 of the game.

I'm really enjoying the Pacers run :)

They'll get by the Magic... but then comes the Heat  :o  :-\

I honestly think the Heat are the only team in the East that can beat us - which is damn unfortunate considering we'll be playing them next - but if we can SOMEHOW upset them, I think we'll be in the NBA finals against OKC.  Which would be pretty darn exciting.

Making a big deal about beating a Howard-less Magic team is like bragging about beating up the kids in the special ed classes.

I'm finding less time for hoops these days but I couldn't help notice Larry Bird winning the Executive of the Year. So with that, he's also been Coach of the Year and Most Valuable Player. I don't know, this just strikes me as being a pretty spectacular accomplishment.

Only person ever to win all 3.

I said at the beginning of the year I love what he did with our team and its paid off all season.

Name one team better at winning provided their opponent is missing their best big man, you can't.

Nik,

We had a good year.  A lot better than most thought (yourself included).

You said you saw our team as a 45 win team in an 82 game schedule.  We almost won 45 this year in a shortened season.

3rd in the East, one of the best road records in the NBA, etc, etc

I get it.  We aren't a great team.  But we're A LOT better than you've given us credit for.

We're 47-22 on the year (regular season + playoffs).

We've won a round and could potentially win another (no matter how small the likelihood is... and I agree it's small).

Forgive me for being excited.  :-\

Sure, I mean, demerits for referring to an out of market(or any team really) team as "we" but sure.

Which I stand by. The compressed schedule favoured teams with depth over teams one or two stars.

I don't think they are. I think, most years, they're a 45 win team that gets knocked out in round one. That doesn't make them bad, just middle of the road.

They did a little better than that this year but that's largely attributable to other teams' injuries(the three best non-Pacers in the Central played 51, 39 and 12 games) and their own good health.

I know people tend not to notice it because it doesn't fit the bogus narrative they want to believe about him but in the three wins since the Heat went down 2-1 Lebron has averaged 32.6 ppg/11.3 rpg/8 apg/2 spg/1 bpg and only three turnovers per. That's astounding.

The Spurs had won 20 straight. They'd swept their first two playoff series. They hadn't lost more than two straight all season.

Then they ran into the Thunder. Man, that team is just good.

The Toronto Raptors are shopping the No. 8 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, according to Chad Ford of ESPN.

The Raptors are said to be looking to acquire an established wing player and Ford's report claims the team has targeted Memphis Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay and Andre Iguodala of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo has reportedly let teams know that the pick is available if they are able to acquire the proven small forward they are looking for.

The Raptors are expected to have last season's first round pick Jonas Valanciunas in the lineup this season, so the team may prefer to add a veteran presence instead of two, unproven rookies.
