2012 NFL Thread

America's Team!

What's even better is if you go to ESPN and see the state by state breakdown, the Cowboys only won Texas 55-45.

I went to my first ever NFL game a couple of weeks ago. New Orleans Saints v Tampa Bay Bucs in the Superdome. I'd been waiting 20 odd years to go since I first visited family in New Orleans and did a tour of the Dome.

It was worth waiting for. A 41-0 win and an incredible arena and atmosphere.

WOn't be 20 years before I go back, I hope! Incredible city as well.

What a season for my Vikings. I predicted a 4-12 season but that man freak Peterson runs the team into the playoffs. Too bad he ended up 9 yards short.  Sitting out the 4th qrtr of the st.louis game with tight abs cost him the record but probably got the vikes into the playoffs.  Loving u AD!

Woo hoo

What an incredible game that was! Looking forward to the next GB/MIN game.

EDIT: Loving Minny too (they just won me a pint.)  ;)

I guess there are a number of teams I can get behind these playoffs. Off the top of my head, the Colts and the Broncos have connecting stories that make each of them easy to cheer for (at least for me anyway.)

The house cleaning has already begun. 3 GM's and 2 coaches confirmed sacked with at least 2 more coaches and another GM expected to go. Rex Ryan not on the list yet, but that might change after the Jets get their new GM in place.

EDIT: updating list
NJY and JAX - GM
CLE, SD, and ARI - Coach and GM
PHI, CHI, KC, and BUF - Coach
Total: 5 GM's and 7 coaches

Possible changes to come
Ron Rivera in Carolina
Mike Mularkey in Jacksonville

Rumor Mill

I don't think Rex Ryan gets fired regardless of who the new GM is and, quite frankly, he really shouldn't be. He's shown he can get good results with a so-so team. This year the Jets were done in by just a complete lack of talent on offense, an injury to their best defensive player and the unnecessary distraction of Tebow.

Also, you can add Buffalo and Chicago to the list of teams who have reportedly fired their coaches.

You can add Arizona to the list as well. The Cards have fired their coach and GM today. The day after the season ends usually sees a few moves, but I can't recall a day with this much activity.

Looks like the loss of Ponder is a big deal for the Vikings. Peterson has been pretty well shut down and Webb has been awful. Looks like the Pack will move on.

So it's SEA@ATL, GB@SF, BAL@DEN, and HOU@NE.

Predictions anyone?

I've got Seattle with the upset over Atlanta, San Fransisco beating Green Bay, Denver winning a close one at home, and New England crushing the Texans again.

Seattle, San Fran, Denver, New England.

(I'm playing Sportsnet's Playoff Pigskin Pick'em and those are my picks).

Cheering for the 'Niners & Brady's Pats!
