Let's Go NINERS!!!

Time to get back to the promised land and in such a quick turnaround from a couple of years ago too! Harbaugh... I fricking LOVE you!

Too bad I am about to head off to work now and will miss the game.

I don't care who wins the Super Bowl... Just don't let it be the 49ers.

Cumon man, give us 9er fans a break, we were a lottery team a couple of years ago. This team deserves it and deserved it last year too, or at least a shot at it all.
They work hard and play hard for every down. Damned if it doesn't maybe look like we have our next montana or young to give us a title.

I'm happy for the San Francisco 49ers being in the Sperbowl.  Always have been a classy organization from their days of Jerry Rice and Joe Montana and gentlemanly coach Bill Walsh, back when they were winning NFL championships & Superbowls.

As for the Patriots, I cheered for Tom Brady and would have liked o see him in the Superbowl again, but, oh well, the Ravens sure made them look so ordinary.

Anyway, it's GO NINERS GO!!  All the way, San Fran!!

I'm a fan of another NFC team. I'm also a sucker for drama and would like to see Lewis and Oher win it. Besides, I don't think the Niners window is closing..  They're probably going to be the favorite in the NFC again.

Edit: I also believe a Niners win would tie them with the Steelers with 6 making that two teams ahead of my Cowboys. so yeah, GO RAVENS!

Ive been a Niners fan since the days of John Brodie to Ted Kwalick and Gene Washington.. Therefore I love they are back.. Add to that I depsise the Patriots so I was quite pleased yesterday.. Alsthough as big a Niner fan as I am I was more excited the LEafs won Saturday. Guess it shows how much more the Leafs mean to me over any other sport/team

So while I'm routing for the Ravens, I got in to a heated debate with my best friend on where Lewis belongs among the best players on defense of all time. I have Bruce Smith, Lawrence Taylor, and Reggie White ahead of him (with Taylor at the top of my list.) Agree? Disagree? Who am I missing? Deacon Jones? Dion Sanders? I'd also make a case for Ronnie Lott ahead of Lewis... Needless some help here.

It's always tricky with football because it's so tough to compare eras. Most of the MLB's that people would put above Lewis are guys like Bednarik or Butkus who played way back in the day and who Lewis was probably faster than and outweighed by 40-50 pounds.

I'd consider Mike Singletary/Jack Lambert as LB's being right there with Lewis.

Sorry for the bad grammar in the original post. I was using a tablet and with too many beers, and it can be dangerous. Anyway, not just LBs but defensive players period. Surely he can't be top 5... Or can he?

No, I got that. I was just talking about how difficult it is to compare players from different eras at the same position, let alone trying to figure out to what extent a guy like Sanders, who might be the best cover corner of all time, would compare to a pass rushing linebacker or something.

For what it's worth when the NFL did their list of the top 100 players in history they had Lewis as the 6th purely defensive player of all time, behind Taylor, White, Butkus, Deacon Jones and Mean Joe Greene.

While i have never been a huge fan of Randy Moss or his persona I have to give the guy credit. He has been around almost as long as Lewis. Has been to one Super Bowl and lost. Could also be playng his last game yet he is all about the team this time and keeping a low profile. Not about Lewis and his hamming up with the God thing every time the camera is on..His act to me seems scripted and pathetic..If his Ravens lose the bowl I wonder if he will say after the game I guess God is a Niners fan after all? Should be a very intersting game.. Hoping the Niners come out on top... Kaepernick is fun to watch

I hope Moss falls flat on his face... Not a guy (pardon the funny) I want to get behind.

People can change I suppose. The thing with Lewis though is he's not at all like he is when he's off the field. He just seems to go into "character" when he plays. I like "characters" - as long as it's kept in good taste. That's just me though... I really miss the elaborate TD celebrations too.

There are similarities though. On the field, Lewis stops offenses. Off the field, he obstructs murder investigations.

True... but in the NFL, you're either obstructing an investigation or actually murdering someone so...

Just sayin'. In the "who's the bigger jerk?" bowl, I'm not sure how Moss' history of bad behavior compares to Lewis, you know, maybe killing two dudes.
