2012 Olympics

Still though, an impressive result for Milos. He should have his head held high after that one, nice to see both players getting standing o's after the match, what a marathon. Hopefully a huge confidence boost for him heading into the latter stage of the season.

For those are not familiar with tennis as much, Tsonga is deservedly the 5th best player in the world not only in rankings (I think) but also in terms of ability (tied with Ferrer in my mind).

Good on Milos for taking Tsonga to the absolute limit. Too bad about Nestor and partner, #1 ranked in the world, going out with a whimper.

Canada 5 bronze and 1 silver - good start!

And oh, the badminton controversy! Teams trying to lose games to get better seeding - and eight teams getting kicked out altogether. :o

Never expected that - and now Canada into the semis because of it.

Gutsy performance by the Canadian women's soccer team in coming from behind to tie Team Sweden at 2 apiece.  On to the quarter-finals for Team Canada!  Let's go, ladies!

Picked up our second silver this morning in rowing = 0G 2S 5B so far, might be able to match or top the 18 medals we won in '08

Very proud to be involved in rowing at the minute in Northern Ireland with one town producing 3 medallists in the last couple of days.

But for anyone who isn't sure what it takes or the impact the Olympics can have on people, this video is incredible:

(I hope BBC works outside the UK)

What a hero Alan Campbell is.

Women's soccer team advances to the semis to play the US.

Not to be outdone by Raonic and Tsonga, Federer and Del Porto played the longest match in Olympic history (time wise - the final set was 19-17). Pretty incredible to have two extraordinary third sets in the same games.

Congrats to the ladies team - they're in tough against the US but they've at least given themselves a good chance at a medal.

I like Raonic and everything but as some point he's going to have to take one of these guys down

You know he's 21, right?

It's cool that you hardly post here anymore but is sarcasm forbidden at the World of Warcraft forums?

Pointing out that he's 21 is not sarcasm. If I wanted to be sarcastic i'd post in the Pink Floyd thread.
