I like Raonic and everything but as some point he's going to have to take one of these guys down

You know he's 21, right?

It's cool that you hardly post here anymore but is sarcasm forbidden at the World of Warcraft forums?

Pointing out that he's 21 is not sarcasm. If I wanted to be sarcastic i'd post in the Pink Floyd thread.

I think he could mean that he was being sarcastic, which, however, also pretty much makes no sense.

I think he's just picking on me again.

I miss this

Ryan Cochrane wins the silver in the Men's 1500m freestyle swimming, and at the Omnium, the Canadian Women win the cycling Women's Pursuit with a bronze.

Canada's medal tally is now at 10 -- 1G, 3S, 6B.

NHLers tweet on Olympics... and, oh yes, those Ovi pics are nice too...

That was a thorough beating - is everyone sure that was Roger Federer and not Steve Federer? Nice one Murray

Good for Murray, Fed looked gassed the whole match.

However, this is not equatable to winning Wimbledon or any other major as I've heard some people say it is.

Why? Wouldn't it depend on the individual? Also, it's not as if the field is any weaker here.

But, it's a 3 set tournament rather than a 5 set tournament. That's a pretty significant difference there.

EDIT: Also, the field is half the size - 64 for the Olympics, 128 for Wimbledon - so, it takes one less match to win the title.

Doesn't make it any less of accomplishment. I mean, everyone is playing under the same rules.

I don't think anyone is trying to diminish the accomplishment, but, it's definitely a step below winning a Grand Slam tournament.

I just don't know, busta... I'm curiuos to hear what Murray and all the previous Olympic gold medal winners in Tennis say about where their victory ranks in their lifetime accomplishments. - Right at the top, I'm guessing.

According to?

Anyone who remotely follows tennis. Look at the differences that busta pointed out, those are huge. To win a major is a grueling two week challenge with much longer matches against a field double the size.

I wasn't trying to diminish Murray's accomplishment at all, winning a gold is great for him and it's a high level tournament - but not the same as a major by any means.
