So apparently Chris Pronger might be joining the Department of Player Safety....while still a member of the Flyers.

I hope the Flyers somehow get even more cap space out of this. They'll just spend it on bad defencemen anyway.

So much greatness in that clip.

One of my greatest regrets in life is that I didn't see that unfold live and tuned in mere minutes later.  I don't think YouTube can capture the full majesty of that kind of train-wreck.

They spared no expense on that helmet.

Of particular note, I thought, is that the Devils have an average age of 31 years old when no other team in the league is even at 29.

Yeah, though, having Jagr, Elias and a 37 y/o backup goalie in Clemmensen skews those numbers a little bit. Those 3 alone raise the roster's average age by more than a full year.

Yeah, the fact that they were the oldest didn't surprise me so much as the margin. The gap between them and the #2 team is bigger than the gap between the #2 team and the #26 team.

Good to see a former Belfast Giant Bobby Robins, beating up on a former Leaf

Only the 4th player to go from playing in the British Elite League to make an NHL debut.

Obviously he's there for one thing mainly (he had more PIMs than ice time), but still..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9NnEGk6Qj8

He has an interesting back story of how he went from playing in European minor leagues to the NHL

Long, but worth a read.

I like what the Isles did in the off season. I think they've got a good shot at getting back into the playoffs - if, like so many teams, their key players can stay healthy.

That's going to be the key for them.

Visnovsky started the season on the IR - gotta wonder if there's something else going on with that guy.

Concussion last year.

Back spasms recently. Didn't sound too bad but he's 38 ..

When he's played recently, he's played pretty well according to an Ilses forum I've read for years.
