I sincerely doubt Eakins lasts past 15 games if this keeps up with the Oilers

Does MacTavish go back behind the bench for them or does Kevin Lowe have a nephew looking for a job?

Ryan Smyth has the resume required for a job with the Oilers.

LOL...watching Flames/Blackhawks......Healy has called the Blackhawk James Van Riemsdyk twice now. It's TREVOR, but Kypreos and Maclean haven't corrected him. Or noticed.

I am finding it interesting how bad Edmonton, Florida, Carolina and Buffalo are this year.  Am I missing any obvious ones?

I would love to see Florida moved to a Western zone city....like Kansas City or Portland Oregon.

They also can't draft.  Since the lockout (starting with the Crosby draft in 2005) they have 10 players who have played 100+ games.  Only two of them were drafted outside of the top 10.  Those two players were drafted in the 3rd round (Riley Nash and Theo Peckham)

They have a few interesting prospects in their system from the last few drafts, but, it feels like we've been waiting forever for guys like Klefbom and Marincin to crack the NHL roster and have an actual impact.

Edmonton are Hilarabad.

I feel bad for Scribbles.

Just got to watch the 3rd and OT of the Islanders/Sharks game and...man, that did not look like two teams of significantly different talent levels. The Islanders might be legit.

I watched the whole game and if it weren't for Stalock and what looked like an offside goal on the Hertl goal the Islanders would've won it in regulation.

That said, SJ hasn't exactly been good defensively in the last 2 games.

If I'm Katz I fire everyone and start completely over again. That a Oilers old boys network has got to be removed - any other franchise and Mac T would have been fired 10 years ago

They're a top defenseman away from being the best team in the East I think. Garth Snow did a terrific job this summer. They needed a starting goalie, forward depth, and top-4 defencemen and while the last one took awhile he checked all of those off. If Brian Campbell really is available Snow should be calling Florida every single day.

Also, I dropped some $$$ on them through Bodog when they had their over/under at 81.5. Kicking myself for not putting more down though.

Yeah, it was their depth that got to me. They were using a 3rd line of Brock Nelson, Grabo and Ryan Strome which is...pretty friggin' good.

I think that's technically their 2nd line. Nielsen and Kulemin would be on their 3rd line.

I suppose it depends on how you look at things. In their first three games Nielsen definitely was being used as the #2 PP centre and Bailey and Kulemin had more ES ice time than Nelson and Strome respectively. Either way, it's a pretty good 3rd line.

Well, I figured I'd try and stay awake to watch St. Louis and LA thinking, you know, a gaame between two of the best teams in the league has to be good.

Holy jeebus is this bad to watch. The Kings are late 90's Devils painful.

Brilliant backhanded dipsy-doodle more by Tavares on the shootout winner:

What is that? If they win the Cup you get 81 times your original bet?

Is there an early cash out option?

You could be looking at a substantial pay day!

I think the 81.5 is guessing their point total this season?  I'm not a betting person so I could be way off.
