Why, it's a nickname of his. No different then people using Mango, Papi, JT, Goat, CC, Sandman.

It's not a nickname of his. It's a nickname that's used by a small handful of people on this message board. Most of the other  nicknames you brought up come from the players themselves, or the team. They're used by most of the media covering the team, too.

Also, it's terrible.

I hated Lockdown, though really it was one user that tried to make it a thing...I won't say identify the idiot, but his username rhymes with Manzibar Duck Duck Sicfate.

Also, Lilypad is just a stupid nickname.  Anyone that uses it is stupid.

Grinny is obviously his proper nickname.
