Ask yourself this: If the Senators had to give up Josh Norris for Eichel, would you really want that to happen? Nope, me neither, and I don?t see that happening which is a big part of the reason why I don?t think there?s a fit here.

I saw this quote on twitter and originally assumed it was a joke post, so I had to search the quote on goggle to find the source.
That's mind-blowing.

It?s Garrioch, so the bad take is to be expected, but yikes.
Recently on Puck Soup, Wyshinski said he wouldn't trade Jack Hughes straight up for Eichel and got soundly dumped on by Lambert and McIndoe.

Also a terrible take, but at least he's talking about a 19 y/o recent 1st overall pick with two full seasons under his belt now. Bad take, just not as bad as Garrioch.

Oh, no question! I just thought it was interesting to bring to attention.

For sure. There's going to be an epidemic of bad takes this summer. It's already started in earnest. Going to be hard to keep track of all of them.

I mean I have seen a lot of stuff written on the Rangers how Lafreniere/Kakko/Fox are all untouchables in a trade for Eichel too.  Like you wouldn't trade Kaapo Kakko for Jack Eichel?  A guy with 40 points in 114 games.  I think he's a good young player and will probably be a good player but that's just crazy talk.

With Eichel's injury recovery up in the air and potential surgery on the horizon (artificial cervical disk, per Friedman), it's the lowball phase of the conversation to see if Buffalo blinks and does another O'Reilly. Also a prime money spend for a prime money player really only makes sense for a team on the cusp of coming out of their rebuild with prospect capital (or owner hubris).

My top landing spots are NYR, LAK, VGK (because they crazy), with BOS, MTL, CBJ being the next tier to make serious but weak pitches because their prospect pools are mere puddles.

It's nice, but not entirely accurate. Colorado can lose one of their games in OT/SO, and the Leafs can still pass them.

Yup. I get Fox being an untouchable - a young, top pairing, potential Norris candidate? That's similar value to a top C and equally difficult to acquire. The other two? They're going to be good young players, but I don't think either of them reaches the same level as Eichel.

Leafs can finish 1st overall if:
- Leafs get 4 of their final 4 points
- Vegas gets 0 of their final 2 points
- Colorado gets 1 out of their final 4 points

Vegas can finish 1st overall if:
- Vegas gets 2 of their final 2 points and Colorado gets 3 out of their final 4 points
- Vegas gets 1 of their final 2 points and Colorado gets 2 out of their final 4 points
- Vegas gets 0 out of their final 2 points, Toronto gets 0 out of 4 points and Colorado gets 1 out of their final 4 points

Colorado can finish 1st overall if:
- Colorado gets 4 out of their final 4 points
- Colorado gets 3 out of their final 4 points and Vegas gets no more than 1 point
- Colorado gets 2 out of their final 4 points and Vegas gets 0 out of 2 points

I can absolutely believe this because it's pretty clear he's flat out demanding one.

I just want to say how much I love that both Tampa and Boston finished in that old Toronto divisional placeholder of 3rd place, while the Leafs won their division.

Leafs not only need both wins, they need to win at least 1 in regulation as that's the tie breaker with Vegas.
