.911 goaltending there and we're gearing up to play Washington 1st round.

Lou would've just paid Marleau more if we didn't retain lmao

Edit: he did pull off the Phaneuf trade without retaining any salary. So big kudos there.
Joe S. said:A little dated but I?d agree with Herman about the kadri and Rielly extensions, I?d forgotten about those.
Zee said:I was told the Leafs were terrible and would drop to a wild card spot but instead they're in 2nd in the division and Tampa is in the wild card spot. Is Tampa terrible? Asking for a friend.
Joe S. said:Honestly it doesn?t matter who they face. No team in the east is going to be an easy opponent. Any one of 1-8 are all legit cup contenders. The only one I think is a bit of a meh are the rangers.
So Tampa, Boston, Florida, it doesn?t matter. They have to be able to beat any one of them. It?s just crazy that one of those 4 will be out in the first round.

Completely agree on the Rangers.

I don't know if that's true. Lou took advantage of the position Anaheim was in leading up to the expansion draft, but, all he really did was identify the only real somewhat established NHL goalie that really needed to be trade by their team and made a move. He got somewhat lucky that McElhinney was put on waivers in 16/17, because the previous backup goalies he was comfortable with were Sparks and Enroth.

And even then would you definitely bet against them if Shesterkin is playing well?
CarltonTheBear said:The Andersen move is a tricky one to look back at in retrospect because even if we want to say Lou absolutely nailed the scouting/identifiying of Andersen I think it's still fair to wonder if paying the pretty hefty price (a 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder) was worth it for a team that maybe wasn't quite ready to jump out of the rebuilding stage as early as that move forced us to.
